EPG Channel Guide Channel Missing

#1

Post by bobr31 » Sat Nov 02, 2019 5:21 pm

All of a sudden I have lost channel 810 for NBC in ZIP 02072. Xfinity/Comcast is my cable provider. Attached are screen shots of the the channel list for EPG, Comcast/Xfinity and WMC. This must have started this week as my NBC scheduled programs for channel 810 stopped recording as of Wed 10/30. Should I try a Rebuilt WMC Database to see if that solves the issue??

No, a rebuild probably won't do anything for you. Open the client and click the Match by: [# Number] button and check channel 810 on the left side list. The 'Subscribed Lineup' column should have an entry starting with "EPG123".

Out of curiosity, why is the logo for 810 Nick Jr? It should be WBTS (NBC).

Thanks Gary. Problem solved, quick and easy, just like everything about EPG123. Not sure why Nick Jr logo was appearing on channel 810. It now shows NBC logo. Thanks for all of your effort on keeping WMC alive for us fans!

I would suggest deleting your current scheduled task and create a new one with the 'Automatically match...' / 'Automatch' feature enabled. If something like this happens again, EPG123 will set it straight on the update.

Done! Just below the Scheduled Task box, the Client Tool shows "Guide Channels with Custom labels". I assume that is correct.

That button is just for channel display in the client (left side) and has no impact with the guide in WMC. It does, however, impact how the Match by [# Number] and [Call Sign] buttons work within the client.

Note to self: I'll need to let the user know what the impact is in the guide or a message prompt.

I just noticed that the same exact thing was happening for me. Nearby zip code (01757) and provider (Xfinity). 810 was not showing as NBC but as NickJr. Thanks for the info on how to fix on this!

I have a few channels that the guide in media center is showing wrong info as per what is playing then I noticed the whole channel was wrong. It says starz but it is is really supposed to be Epic. This is for around 5 channels in a row 372-376 again for Xfinity in 08753. I still can’t resolve it with automatch and a delete of the schedule. Help please.

I think Comcast must have changed your lineup very recently. Both Gracenote and Rovi show those channels (369-375) as Starz and you only have a single Epix channel on 331/1790. Not too surprising that Comcast would do this without notifying the guide listing providers of the change.

Submit a ticket to Schedules Direct and they will notify Gracenote of the changes.

It looks like they may have removed some Starz programming and added Epix programming based on this page:

https://www.xfinity.com/support/article ... on-xfinity

You should contact Schedules Direct (assuming that is who your provider is) and let them know about the schedule change.
