Upgrading from v1.1.18

#1

Post by geobrick » Fri Jun 21, 2019 6:13 pm

I'm not sure I need to upgrade since things seem to be working fine but I just discovered there have been several years of improvements to EPG123.
I read through the older release notes and where garyan2 says the location of some of the program files will be relocated to the program data directories and that we'll need to delete and recreate the scheduler.

Can I update directly to v1.2.13.0 from 1.1.18? If I do update from v1.1.18 to 1.2.13.0, will I need to do anything other than run the downloaded setup program? If not, is there a post you can point me to that runs me through the required steps. The instructions seem to be written for someone installing EPG123 for the first time to replace the Rovi guide and shows how to transfer those recording requests from the backup files but will it also do that for the older EPG123 files. Maybe it's just the term "Clean Start" that worries me.

No need for a clean start. Just run the setup program which will copy over the new epg123 files and that is it for the upgrade.

In your case, you will still need to delete your current scheduled task and create a new one for the change in location of the mxf file.

I would also recommend opening EPG123 to see if there are any new options you want to enable and then save.

Thanks. I'll install the update and checkout the new options.
