I'm not getting rotten tomatoes or what looks like the extended guide data from EPG123. I verified that EPG123 is creating the file, and I have pointed MMUI+ to EPG123's program data folder, and the output folder inside of EPG123's program data folder. Do you have any idea what could be wrong?

I believe you need to point MMUI+ to the location of epg123.exe and/or epg123Client.exe. It does it's own logic to determine the location of the mmuiplus.json file. Note that epg123 doesn't provide the rotten tomatoes or flixster information, but MMUI+ may need the mmuiplus.json file to find it?

Thanks Gary. Pointing MMUI+ to the EPG123 folder under program files (x86) gave me the enhanced guide data but I'm still not getting the rotten tomato or flixter scores.

The scores are not populating due to some changes made recently by Rotten Tomatoes. An update for ModernMedia UI+ will be available soon to restore the data.

besides the question whether there is any chance that reception of DVB S2 with H265 encoding might be realized in the modern media center (I stated this already elsewhere)...

I'm wondering whether there might be implemented the feature to record certain seasons or episodes of a series... garyon2 provides with his epg123 the info for each episode; would it be possible to say for example: record only episodes > s04e07 ...?
Thanks

This is not likely to happen.

Unfortunately, I don't think this type of feature would be viable. While it may be technically possible, it would require a creative solution to implement.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I can't do much about h265 but this might help you set rules for and or find specific shows to record https://12noon.com/?page_id=204

that is what I feared; at the moment the H265 broadcasts are few (Europe/Germany) but their number is increasing, which naturally limits the useful life span of windows media center for me...

First , I like the Modern UI+ interface. I'm using on WMC 8.82 W10 1809. Almost all shows don't have any information when you right click. Synopsis blank, up coming blank, cast blank (not at machine right now). Am i missing something?

Do the same programs display information with the theme disabled? Open UI+ and uncheck "Enable Theme" to test.

Yes they show up correctly with MUI+ theme disabled. Took me awhile to reply, lost account info.

What is your display resolution? If you are using a nonstandard aspect ratio, that might be the issue.

I'm not aware of anything that would cause this behavior. I can only suggest disabling other third-party customizations you may have installed. It definitely sounds like some type of conflict that is preventing WMC from running.
I just reinstalled windows and MMUI is now working correctly, however, the license that i purchased will no longer activate MMUI.

I just sent an reply email with the license to the account but not sure if that is monitored.

Run WMC in windowed mode and resize the window to see if the data appears while adjusting it. Other than that, I'm not sure what to suggest.

Mini guide not timing out:
Windows 7 MMUI+ mini guide does not time out. The other UI elements during playback all time out correctly, but not the mini guide. Is there a specific registrykey for it that I may have messed up? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

Reference this post for the registry that controls the mini-guide timeout.

Posted this in Win10 WMC 8.8.3 thread. Posting here as question is also concerning MMUI+ as well.

+++++++++++

I have a question that I can't seem to find answer to. I was a 7MC user for many years because I had cablecard with Time Warner/Spectrum. We moved 2 years ago and the area Im in doesnt have cable. We have AT&T two wire ( not fiber/uverse). The only other alternative is satellite ( not going back to that).

Right now Im using native Emby (not the WMC plugin) for OTA TV and Directv Now for non-OTA. For a while I had Hdhomerun Premium but we know how that ended up.

Now the question. With the new versions of Win10 WMC and Modern Media UI+ is there a way to bring streaming TV services into WMC environment for local record?

Im okay with DirecTV Now but would switch in a minute if there was a streaming service compatible with WMC recording. Is anyone working on such between the two initiatives?

Any info would be helpful.

Thx
EZEd

There are no plans for this type of feature in ModernMedia UI+. Some streaming content will be available in the upcoming standalone application, ModernMedia TV. However, it is not intended to be a replacement for subscription services like DirecTV Now.

Thx Mike for info. The streaming content in MMTV doesn't necessarily need to replace DtvNow but if it could be made to work with it for local record is fine. Is there no way to set up MMTV to take the stream dump from DtvNow and save to hard drive? Maybe even setup scheduled recordings from the DtvNow guide?

Im using Dtvnow as the example but Im sure any users that dont have cable would appreciate being able to locally record their streaming service of choice.

This was working great with HDHomerun Premium TV. But they got shut down. Just looking for something similar to replace.

Ive tried PlayOn as well but it is extremely unreliable. Ive yet to get it to even finish a single recording.

Just something to think on for future implementation.
