Ahhmmm...I'm a bit perplexed about the recent content of this thread (or lack thereof). I thought this thread was to comment and provide a support forum for Mike's ModernMedia UI project. (At least this is the thread that clicking on the Forum header over at windows10mediacenter.com brings you to.) I've been waiting for the anticipated release of ModernMedia UI+ since it was labelled as being in final testing months ago - and I can finally see that it's been released to the general public on September 4. Considering many people were excited about new features it may be bringing to our old friend WMC, I would think this forum would be full of reviews, comments, bug reports, enhancement requests, etc, etc. But I see nothing here about it. People are still going on about Win 7 or Win 10 in the years 2020 and 2023. Which is all fine and good (I have the same dilemma as the rest of you), but I would think that conversation would be more appropriate in another thread of the Windows 10 WMC forum on TGB. I'm VERY excited about trying out ModernMedia UI+, but I was hoping to see what the general consensus was from early users and see if it's stable enough to put on my machine. Plus I'm seeing that some of the more interesting features to me - dual live tv buffers, last 8 channels - require an activation code for $15. Happy to pay it and support this project, but really, no comments, feedback yet? A month after release? Is anyone using it? Is it the best thing since sliced bread? Does it suck? Anything?? And I see that the release on September 20 has Live Sports and Weather tiles. Awesome! Any comments? Do these require the activation code? Just perplexed why there's nothing in this thread even discussing it a month after release.

There’s another thread in the Add-ons section. That thread has much more in the way of feedback and bug fixes etc.

Yep, on page 6 of this thread and upon release, discussion was moved to:

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11849

Perhaps this thread should be closed?

This thread serves as an overview of the project, which encompasses several different applications. Some are available now, and more will be released in the future. After the launch of ModernMedia UI+ last month, I posted a link to a separate thread for feedback on the app. It may have been overlooked in the midst of some other discussions going on at the time. Moving forward, I will continue to post updates in this thread as necessary for the project as a whole.

The sports and weather features do not require activation.

Mike, do you have any kind of info on your streaming applications? I know you guys worked hard, and you deserve a break if needed but I'm curious about what to expect. If its too early to say anything then thats ok also. I'm in a predicament where netflix, and amazon my Win 10 WMC machine (Which is my primary viewing PC) aren't working. It looks like the Amazon addon launches in edge (I guess??) and I can't seem to get the netflix restore trick to be compatible with MMUI+ Right now I'm relying on Kodi for each. Thanks.

I can tell you there are no plans at this time to include Netflix or Amazon.

unfortunately I have to say that an UHD user Interface without the ability to manage UHD life TV (HEVC/H265) (SAT, or cable, or terrestrial) is merely cosmetics (eye candy)...
for me, besides Streaming Services, the ability to use h265 live TV would be key to keep Media Center alive... otherwise there are other Options (unfortunately... I like Media Center, which I'm using since 2006 (!))

WMC can still play h265 files. Thats not a guarantee that it will play everything provides by your cable provider though and it likely can't read her metadata.

...files... but for me live TV (especially Sat-TV, S2 with HEVC capability) is the key...

HD works of course, but UHD channels which are HEVC (h265) don't show

Got a question. What is this ModernMedia TV? Is it like some IPTV thing for the Live TV for WMC?

ModernMedia TV is a standalone application that supports streaming video from a number of sources, including online content and local content such as security cameras. Integration with WMC is currently in development.

Nice! I would love to try this out when it's done :) hope it will be available in the TV Guide (If you do the IPTV part) it will be awesome to actually ditch DVBLink once and for all :)

The ability to launch from the guide is a work in progress. It is functioning well in testing and would definitely be a great feature to have.

Any chance the streaming channels will let you use something like FFDShow instead of the live TV decoder?
