Clean Install leave MS as EPG

#1

Post by riverboat2001 » Sat Dec 30, 2017 4:19 pm

Noticed I had no guide data past 06/01/18 so went into EPG checked my info and my Line-up was gone (I now realise this was down to changes at Schedules Direct)
I put in my postcode, and did a save and exit, I then ended up with NO guide, every channel said "no data available"

I then performed a clean install, including running set-up again and rerun the epg line-up and it all downloaded correctly, However, it did not "go" into WMC.

I uninstalled EPG123 and rerun Microsoft set-up, I get an error.

Guide Download Error
The guide could not could not downloaded, for more information, right click the Windows Media Center System Tray icon, and open the Windows Media Center Update log.

So re-install EPG123 and run through clean install, however after following all the instructions, i noticed that "about guide" still says Microsoft.
and the EPG hasn't been populated by EPG123.(I did tick to copy guide data to WMC)

Prior to this EPG123 has been working flawlessly for over 6 months without a hitch.
What am I missing, why isn't WMC updating?

So, I've lost all my TV Listings, and hours of custom channel work, it's New Year, family are going mad, and we're now away for four days.

I could locate a log file for EPG123, but I have some helpful pictures, but cannot find a way to upload them to this page.

Sounds like your merged channels aren't matched with a lineup station. If you open the EPG123 Client, do you have your EPG123 lineups on the right? Do any of the channels on the left has entries in the "Subscribed Lineup" column?

I'll check on my return, however with a re-run of the WMC with EPG123 uninstalled , it is reporting "Guide Download Error"
And I thought that a clean install of EPG123 replaced Microsoft as the epg provider?

Cheers for the quick reply.

All the channels appear on the right.

All of the channels appear on the left, and they are all ticked, HOWEVER, the subscribe option is greyed out (on right click)

I'm assuming this is where the fault is, how do i subscribe?

To manually subscribe, you need to select a channel on the right AND at least one channel on the left. If the channel numbers in the Schedules Direct lineup are correct, you could use the Match by: [# Number] button to do them all at once automatically... just make sure the channel numbers shown on the left are the ones to match to by viewing either the original labels or custom labels (button above the listings).
