Hello, I was wondering if there was any way to show the tags inside of file explorer properties in windows 10 like previous windows versions? Like when you right click a wtv file and select properties where it shows the description ect..

What version of Win 10 are you using?

Could you type winver into cortana and hit enter?

I just tried it on Win10 Pro N and Win10 10586.

The RecordedTV folder shows the details, just like Win7.

Did you move the files into a different folder than RecordedTV?

I probably should have been a little more clear, the machine running WMC is actually a separate machine running 8.1, the recorded tv folder is a mapped network drive on a W10 machine.

I believe the WMC Recorded TV Library Setup will give you the properties you desire.

Try option 3.....for credentials, us an admin account from the Win10 box.

I have the same issue with Windows 10 and this has been the cast for as long as I remember -- stupid that Microsoft stripped ALL WMC related features from Windows 10!!
The way I get around this is to install the Windows 10 Media Center hack on my Windows 10 PCs and tablets. This allows them -- and programs like MCEBuddy and others to accurately read the relevant data such as show name, episode title, original airdate, description, etc.

I used to have to re-run the installation after every Windows 10 update since they used to 'correct' overwrite these changes. However, I don't think I've had to re-install / patch Windows 10 with WMC in quite a while....

This is a Property Details on my Windows 10 PC looking at a recording on a Network shared folder.

I tried following the tutorial on the MCEBuddy website to add the metadata reading ability to Windows Server versions, but I could never get it to work. Thank goodness for the hacking project or I would be up shits creek!
