EPG123 series schedule somehow gone

#1

Post by Whiznot » Thu Aug 03, 2017 11:37 pm

I made a change by creating a scheduled task to download EPG and my scheduled series failed to download after the change. I had to set up the series like I had before the change. Was the failure a bug or was it to be expected?

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Could you describe a little more what disappeared or didn't happen?

Did a scheduled series recording not happen, or disappear? If you just installed EPG123 and are trying to use a previously created series recording from Rovi, then yes it is expected. A Rovi recording will not work with EPG123.

Thanks for the reply. I had epg123 installed and configured without scheduling a task to automatically download new info. I had scheduled series recordings that were all being recorded as scheduled. At some point I decided to schedule a task to fetch new program data at 5:00AM. A day after that change I discovered that my scheduled series were no longer scheduled to be recorded.

Everything is working well now. I just wondered whether other users had ever experienced the same problem.

My first thought is you were still using Rovi guide data. Did you not perform Step 1 - Clean Start? ... an easy way to tell is to open the client GUI and take a look at how many lineups are available in the pull-down combo box. If there is more than 1, then before you scheduled the task everything was still using Rovi. This would include your scheduled recordings which were using Rovi series IDs which will not work with an EPG123 guide.

If you only have 1 lineup available in the combo box, then this will be a very new and strange occurrence indeed.
