Help with Yammm
I just want a basic program to download metadata and artwork for movies I rip from my own blu-ray collection and use the built-in Movie library in WMC. I've set up Yammm, but it is not performing any actions. I have verified that the service is running. Could someone tell me what I might be doing wrong?

Cool, Great little program that works epic.... IF your ripping blu-rays/DVD, Check out Rip N Compress... Works awesome (with MakeMKV for MKV files), drop in a Blu-ray, run a WMC app, have it drop in your movie folder and let YAMM do the rest of the work. It will even prompt you when it's done ripping...

Thanks for the suggestion! Wish I had discovered all these programs a lot sooner.DavidinCT wrote:Cool, Great little program that works epic.... Just just tried Rip and Compress about 2 months ago for the first time and still OMG how well it still works. No need to leave WMC to rip the movie, See my thread here about my tests and findings with it...DOS4EVER wrote:Thanks for the suggestion! I've been using YAMM forever now, a simple easy program and Even if you have issues with it finding some movies I found an EASY way to fix them really quick....

I like it, but I only want to rip the main title and only DTS audio with forced subtitles. Is there a way to configure it to be that specific?DavidinCT wrote:Just just tried Rip and Compress about 2 months ago for the first time and still OMG how well it still works. I have it ripping just the main movie with the HD Audio tracks with no compression. When you setup the profles, there is a setting for Forced subs I believe.
If your running a DTS audio AVR, I might suggest keepiing all the HD audio tracks, not a major size difference and if you update your AVR at some point you will get the perk of the HD audio stream.
You can setup rip profiles on it, so different settings for different movies. You need to play with it, as there really isn't a manual anywhere on it
Only problem with it I ran into was when I use compression (it overall works pretty well), it would downgrade the audio track, something that I DONT want.
With MAKEMKV, it only takes about 25--40 min to rip a movie and convert it to a MKV with all audio tracks.

I am using MakeMKV, but some blu-ray movies have two titles with identical file sizes (3D??) and Auto Rip n Compress is pulling both of them. I just want the one.DavidinCT wrote:http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... f=9&t=9135DOS4EVER wrote: I like it, but I only want to rip the main title and only DTS audio with forced subtitles. Off the top of my head, I dont know, I have not run into that with the discs I have ripped (about 20 between Blu-ray and some HD-DVDs I still have)DOS4EVER wrote:I am using MakeMKV, but some blu-ray movies have two titles with identical file sizes (3D??) and Auto Rip n Compress is pulling both of them. I see the movies are getting sorted alphabetically, but how do I make a few exceptions such as sequels so I can keep them all together? i.e. Empire Strikes Back is sorted in the "E"s but I want it sorted after the original Star Wars. I've tried renaming the mkv files and movie folders, but it doesn't change anything.

Check YAMM, there is setting to adjust movies by their full name or by the first letter.DOS4EVER wrote:I see the movies are getting sorted alphabetically, but how do I make a few exceptions such as sequels so I can keep them all together? i.e. Empire Strikes Back is sorted in the "E"s but I want it sorted after the original Star Wars. Ex.
The Terminator
or
Terminator, The
This might point you in the right direction, also check how you display movies in WMC...

To the OP: Please could you post up the link to where you downloaded the standalone Yammm from?
I have been using this for a few days as part of My Media Center but as far as I can tell it only actually creates the metadata and folder art once. After that the service stays running in the background, but it does not seem to monitor the library folder I specify for new files. Maybe I a being too impatient?
If I stop and restart the Yammm service manually, then the new data is downloaded within a few minutes.

Yeah, I knew his site no longer existed which is why I have been looking for a legit place to doawload standalone Yammm from, so thanks for your link
However I have fixed my problem with MMC/Yammm by setting up a scheduled task to stop and restart YammmSvc every hour whenever the computer is idle. Seems to be working so far.

I wonder if he has a stash of all his media center tools on another site. He had a great little tool that he made for ME ! I asked him about a custom app that would give people a notification to CANCEL a reboot if you had a scheduled task go off to reboot the computer. It will prompt you and you can say cancel, and it will cancel the reboot.STC wrote:mikinho blitzed his site a while back.

Abort System Shutdown 1.0 is what it was but, it was the ONLY place it had it...I have a copy but, the good apps for WMC are slowly fading away...
