EPG123v5/v6 - BUG - Series Record
I have an interesting possible bug going on.
I recently chose to set up up a new series recording for Matlock. I did so from the WMC Guide by selecting a channel finding the series and the setting it to record from that channel only. What I ended up getting was every episode of Matlock from every channel that is broadcasting it scheduled to record. (three different channels in my case)
So I tried to setup this series recording a few different ways on both V5 and V6 with the same result.
I have in the past (zap2it/rovi) seen the odd episode from a different channel being scheduled but never EVERY episode.
I don't know if this is EPG123 related or not but I thought it worth mentioning. I did try setting up one other series (different series) recording as a test and it looked normal.
This Win 7 Pro x64.

Yah, I've seen this with zap2it in the past as well when WMC records a show on a different channel for some reason ... doesn't respect the specific channel selection. I've never seen it go crazy and select all shows on all channels. Does it at least respect no duplicates?kanipek wrote:I have an interesting possible bug going on.

epg123 has no control over the recording schedule ... it can screw it up by not using appropriate UIDs for the series and/or program. Could you send me your lineups so I can look it? This is a strange one right now.

I would be happy to do so if you tell me what that means! Sorry don't have a clue. MCTV Stark County - Digital (44646) is what SD calls it. Is that what you need?garyan2 wrote:Yah, I've seen this with zap2it in the past as well when WMC records a show on a different channel for some reason ... doesn't respect the specific channel selection. As far as duplicates the different channels are airing different seasons currently so no duplicates.

I put your lineup on my system and created a scheduled record as you described, but only had a single channel recording. The other channels that show Matlock only had the info bubble next to the episode title that let you know they are scheduled to record at another time.
Doesn't look like I can recreate what you are seeing.

Very strange. But at least it isn't a bug.
This one baffles me. If it were all the series or all new scheduled series, but just this one. Very weird but not unprecedented for WMC sorry to say.

Strange, I'm just the opposite, I had that problem after the Rovi change over but with EPG123 the problem seems to be gone. I did uninstall WMC, then manually deleted the ProgramData/ehome directory and followed the epg123 instructions. I wonder if it's some kind of database corruption.kanipek wrote:I have an interesting possible bug going on.

Yeah this was a clean, start from scratch WMC I deleted everything, cleaned the registry and re-loaded. Not sure what the issue is/was. Guess I will remain confused about it.Jim-W wrote:Strange, I'm just the opposite, I had that problem after the Rovi change over but with EPG123 the problem seems to be gone.
