Would it be possible to make the 'disable if no listings' feature a selectable option?
I'm not sure I understand completely. You want a method to disable all channels that do not have listings (certainly easy to implement). Based on your lineups I can understanding not using the automatch feature, but how does disabling channels that do not have listings make it easier to watch them?

I would like to use automatch if it was possible (although it may not be possible/practical with three satellites) but I don't want channels without listings disabled because there are some that I want to watch.

Some on ASTRA 1 19.2 E, (which aren't in the line up) and some on Hotbird 13.0 E, (which doesn't even have a line up available) don't transmit any guide information so the inband guide loader doesn't help.

Yes, I could ask Schedules Direct to add them but it would be like a never ending game of whack-a-mole.

Basically though, I wondered if it would be possible to give us control over whether the 'disable if no listings' feature is turned on or off.

Sorry, I got that backwards. Yes that can be done, but using automatch in your scenario is not a good idea. EPG123 uses the original channel number of the tuner channel, to match to the channel number of the lineup(s) from SD. It can not tell the difference between the lineups and doesn't know what is correct for your tuner channel. Since you can have 3 different stations using the same channel number among the lineups, you will just end up with the same station for all lineups... 1 will be correct and 2 will be wrong.

I assumed that would it would be a problem, which is the main reason I didn't use that feature on that PC.

Thanks anyway.

Don't know if I am missing a step here or something. I just downgraded my cable card channel lineup, removing movie channels and some premiums channels. After doing a complete cable card channel scan and detect channels (silicon dust), and then doing a complete EPG123 set-up with the Clean Start, it seems my EPG123 lineup is still the old cable card lineup, with the movie channels and premiums. If i look at the cable card lineup via Silicondust, it shows the new lineup without the premiums and movies. It seems that EPG is "hanging on" to the old lineup. I ran through the set-up twice with the same result. I know I can manually go in and edit the channels, but as far as it just recognizing the new cards lineup automatically, am I missing something? Thanks

A cable card lineup has nothing to do with the channels you subscribe to. It is a list of all channels offered by the cable CO for your area. All channels the Cable provider has will be in the lineup. The lineup scanned by Silicondust is going to be what channels you actually subscribe to. EPG123 does not look at what you actually subscribe to it just presents the Cable provider lineup for your area. If you don't want to see channels you don't subscribe to you have to edit them out yourself.

When using a CableCard device, WMC does not detect automatically what channels you subscribe to, and never has. It is a manual process to disable any channel in the guide to which you don't subscribe.

With EPG123, you can tell it to not download the guide data for the channels for which you don't subscribe as well (although I personally don't do this for premium movie channels so that it is easier to just "enable" the channel during free preview events, such as the free preview that HBO/Cinemax had this past weekend on FiOS).

When using CableCard, if you are changing lineups with an existing provider, or even if you're moving to a new cable company, you should not have to do a "Clean Start" with EPG123. All you need to do is enable/disable channels or if changing providers, change the lineup in EPG123.

The main purpose of a "Clean Start" in EPG123 is to get rid of the old Microsoft/Rovi guide data from the WMC database. This would normally be a one-time thing and should not be necessary when making any other type of change.

The best place to start is by reviewing your EPG123 logfile. Open the EPG123 "Client" program and select the "View Log" button and then look for any [ERROR] or [WARNG] entries.

Your WMC database crashed, and considering you had no guide data this morning WMC created a new database. You will need to manually import the guide data back in... open the client, click the [Manual Import] button, and select the epg123.mxf file.

Freesat - South (South) Lineup.

I am trying to use the above lineup and it appears OK in EPG123 but all channels are shown as "-1" in EPG Client.
This doesn't happen with other lineups.

What postal code do you search? I'll verify that is how the data is provided by Schedules Direct. EPG123 will make all channel numbers of certain lineups to be -1 intentionally, but I don't think that is happening in this case.

In "Tweak WMC" GUI after resetting to default the "Channel Column Width" is returned to 240 (xf0) (default is 0). So then to apply other tweaks also tweaks the "Channel Column Width" to 240. After resetting to default it is natural to expect the GUI control levers to reflect the defaults. The others appear to behave that way.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Settings\ProgramGuide]
"ChannelCellWidth"=dword:000000f0

As near as I can tell, setting the ChannelCellWidth registry to 0 results in a column width of 240 pixels. Showing 0 as the default column width will just cause confusion so I elected to show a value that makes sense. So in the purist sense, you are correct that 0 does not equal 240 in the registry, but 240 does equal 240 in WMC.

I don't think I'd call this a bug but I'll look into it... I'm a bit of a purist myself. I probably just need to change the sequence of events when applying the default.

I deleted my last comment, since I may not be understanding what you are calling a bug. Setting the slider to 0 (Default pixels) or clicking the [Default] button does set the registry value to 0. I think you are expecting the slider to say 0 Default pixels rather than its equivalent of 240?

What caught my eye is that it chops of the bottom of channel name in the guide (channels without a logo image).
It does that even when update is done with the lever is set to 0 (default). The only way to prevent is to apply default button. So applying any tweaks relegates it to being chopped off.
