I just installed the minor update to 1.3.5.30 and now I get the yellow EPG launch alert. I did a download and exit and then an import and restarted MC but no luck. Maybe I'm missing something and the clock has to tick over to the next day before the download is "new"? Also the Client title bar still shows just 1.3.5 not 1.3.5.30

I posted this in the wrong thread originally.

The color yellow indicates that there was a WARNG log entry during the last guide update. Look in the trace.log file to see what that message (or messages) are (you can view this log by pressing the appropriate button within either of the EPG123 programs).

Also, the 4th number in the version number indicates a minor revision and probably is not reflected in the version displayed on the icon, nor should you get an indicator notifying you to update to minor versions.

There is no error in any of the log files of any machine so I don't know what triggered the warning other than the version number had changed and the date of the guide did not change (yet). I'll see what happens in the morning but it was green before the update to 1.3.5.30 and after installing (as a write over install not a copy drop) and then doing a save & exit and then importing it into the client the yellow warning remained. Of course the schedule I downloaded was the same one I had downloaded at 1AM.

Tomorrow....

There has to be a warning in the trace.log file in order for the status icon to be yellow. Click the [View Log] button and search for [WARNG] on whichever machine creates the MXF file.

Found this (happened before the install of 1.3.5.30) and maybe this is it

[2/6/2020 1:04:58 AM] [WARNG] Time discontinuity detected. Service 17665 (CSPAN3) SH012857740000 (entry 1) ends at 2020-02-06 00:46:00Z, SH025236580000 (entry 2) starts at 2020-02-06 00:30:00Z. No further discontinuities on CSPAN3 will be reported for the date 2020-02-06.

Since I updated and then downloaded and imported the set data and its the same date perhaps that's why? We'll see if it is gone tomorrow. I hadn't paid attention to the launch logo until I had installed the update.

Just updated to 1.3.5.30 and was looking that the log file when I noticed some error messages that had not been in the log before. I am running Prime Homerun HD. Had an issue with these same SD stations being listed wrong from Schedule Direct. They got those fixed. Here is part of the log file in question. I am not using these channels so I don't think it is effecting how things are working. When I run the client the tunerinfo is missing for each of these stations and I see no way of adding C3 C7 and C30 back. Just wanted you to have a look. Thank you.

Are channels 3, 7, and 30 in your WMC guide or have they disappeared?

They are missing in the settings/edit channels section in WMC. Like I mentioned these three channels are in the SD section and are not used by my homerun prime. They are missing a C(number) in channel info column in you client software. Just wanted to report because of error showing in log. These are the same three stations that the folks at Schedule Direct had to fix several weeks ago. These log errors were not present in the last version of your software. I hope I explained this correctly.Thank you.

They are not coming back. Use the client to delete those channels with the red 'X' above the left side. You can then add them manually back in using the green '+' button.

Looks like loadmxf.exe crashed while importing the mxf file. Having the store disposed is interesting. Open the configuration GUI and click [Save & Execute] and see if it succeeds.

Just noticed this and it's not that big a deal, but was just wondering if there is a way to make EPG123 better at looking up movie artwork.

There is a movie on "Starz Comedy" (first airing 2/22) called "The Other Side" (2018) yet poster art for the movie is displaying the one for "The Other Side of the Wind" (2018).

Here is the entry from the trace.log:

Code: Select all

[2/1/2020 4:27:40 AM] [ INFO] TMDb catalog search for "The Other Side" from 2018 found 6 results.
Looks like it found 6 results and picked the wrong one. I understand that it may not be possible to be perfect, as it is possible that the guide data has a movie title that is different than what is in the TMDb, but perhaps one thing that can be done is to prioritize "exact" matches over the fuzzy matches?

You can see here that the second result is the correct one (not sure how it is sorted).

I have cleared the cache and that did not help. It also seems that the task scheduler isn't functioning properly as well. Says it cant start:

This looks like a corrupt database. You can try to repair it be running from a command prompt "START /WAIT C:\Windows\ehome\mcupdate.exe -uf -dbgc". Once it completes, then try a [Manual Import] of epg123.mxf from the client. If it still fails, then rebuild the database using the [Rebuild WMC Database] button.

It sounds like you may not have EPG123 installed correctly. Can you take a snapshot of the EPG123 Client and post it?

Hi,

I'm not the most computer savvy person but I know enough to be dangerous. I just started using epg123 in Jan (after WMC guide stopped) and I am now subscribed to Schedules direct.

I messaged SD about this and he referred me to here. Everything worked great at first, DVR was recording, guide was good. Now it seems I'm missing shows to record because the "first air date" is off, making shows look like reruns when they are first runs. Also, my local channels (Verizon Fios, Richmond, VA) are completely screwed up in the guide, showing daytime tv coming on at 7pm.

I'm sorry if this has been addressed already, I did not take the time to read 64 pages!

Thanks!
Matt

That's okay, Matt. Most of the 64 pages don't deal with any bugs in EPG123, so it might not have given you an answer anyway.

Try this thread. Bottom line is you didn't install EPG123 correctly and were still using Microsoft/Rovi data. There is no bug with EPG123 and no data problem from Schedules Direct.

Looking at the client I see that you did not do a clean start and/or did not deny the program guide terms of service during Step 2. Missing channel number 1 would probably indicate not doing the [Client Setup] and Step 1.

The channels that are visible, however, are assigned guide listings from EPG123, so those should be fine. What information are you missing and where?
