Show post picture not seen in guide in some system

#1

Post by purpleb » Sat Jun 11, 2022 10:07 pm

With one of my win7 systems, when I bring up the guide, the show picture is not seen at the bottom left. The description is there correctly. On my other win7/win10 systems, they are seen. Any reason why it happened? It has been that way for awhile. I rebuilt the WMC database but that did not help.

Any fix for it?

Thanks again,

I cleared the cache, rebuilt WMC database, rebooted. Still no guide pictures.

It is possible that the image WMC uses from your Internet Cache is corrupt or actually a text file saved as a jpg. WMC should eventually try to refresh the image at some point, but we don't have control over when that occurs.

The simplest thing to do is open Internet Explorer and clear its cache. WMC will then have to re-download all images to include the one missing.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought there was only a single image not showing and not all of them.

What version of EPG123 are you using? If using 1.7.x.x, do you have the proxy/cache server running? Is it setup as Full Mode or Client Mode?

I am using the latest 1.7.0.7, the latest version. I use VPN so I do not think proxy/cache server running. It is setup in full mode.

Sorry, been busy here. Your VPN is probably the issue. SD will allow image downloads based on the IP address when you received a token (logged in), but they will block a lot of the known VPN addresses out there. Are your other machines going through the VPN as well?

Yes, my other systems go thru my VPN and get the guide pictures.

Since you say that machine is setup for 'Full Mode', then you might want to check that the proxy/cache service 'EPG123 Server' is running and it is allowed through the firewall.

A quick way to see if the server is running is to open "http://localhost:9009/" ... if you get a status webpage then the service is running.
