Could not start error, but runs manually

#1

Post by xsdaver » Wed Mar 10, 2021 2:21 pm

I have a PC that is always on set up to download the guide every day and various other PC's set up to import the mxf file from it in client mode. On some of the client PC's the scheduled task works fine every time, on some I get a could not start error every time. On those PC's that could not start if I click on the Manual Import button the guide is imported correctly every time. It appears that the issue causing the could not start error is that the mxf file could not be found. However, it is there which is why the manual import works as it should. Any thoughts? I ran the import manually right before copying this portion of the log:

I did search the forum for "could not start", with the quotes, but got a list of every thread with any of the words could or not or start. Not very useful since a large percentage of the threads have one of those three words.

Your task user probably does not the proper user setup to have access to the network or shared drive. You will have to edit your scheduled task manually in Task Scheduler.

I've tried it with the task set to run as me, but it still doesn't work. At least on one machine.

Is the machine coming out of sleep when it runs the task? Maybe the network isn't up yet when the client tries to get the file... kind of long shot.

Actually this machine was on all the time. The mxf file is on a three disk RAID on an always on server, I wonder if it takes too long for the drives to spin up and the EPG123 client times out waiting.
