WMC Guide Missing with "Live TV Setup"

#1

Post by thatsmychin » Sun Nov 08, 2020 7:28 am

A couple of days ago I lost my WMC guide. I have the "Live TV Setup" instead. I have a Ceton InfiniTV with Cablecard on WIndows 7 if that helps.

I don't know much about EPG123, I got it working a few months back and let it roll. Gleaning from other posts I hoped I only needed to rebuild my WMC database, so I did that, but it complained about tuners. I went ahead with it anyways. That didn't do anything. I went through the "Live TV Setup" in WMC to get the tuners back, but the guide won't open "No channels are available in the guide....."

Here's my log after a failed WMC database rebuild:

Code: Select all

I'm not sure where to even start. Thanks for helping!

The client will give you a warning when trying to manually import the MXF file while there are no tuners setup in WMC. The scheduled update will simply abort. If you import the MXF file when there are no tuners, the database becomes unusable and the only way to recover is to delete it and make a new one.

Code: Select all

Import Warning
There doesn't appear to be any tuners setup in WMC. Importing guide information before TV Setup is complete will corrupt the database. Restoring a lineup (tuner configuration) from a backup is safe.
Do you wish to continue?
If you open WMC, do you still have you scheduled recording requests (Recorded TV->[view scheduled]->Series)? If you do, then perform a [Client Setup] from the GUI to get you back up.

My recordings are still there, I went through the client setup but I don't have guide listings. Live TV plays if I select a channel. Also noticed the EPG123 is missing from the bottom right corner of WMC. Not sure what I missed. My EPG client is missing the line up?, not sure how to proceed:

Could you send your log file (c:\programdata\garyan2\epg123\trace.log) to support@garyan2.net. There is something else going on here that the client isn't even seeing your tuners.

The first problem you had was that you imported an MXF file before you had run TV Setup and configured your tuners. If that is done then the database is damaged and the only way to fix that is to delete it. You did that on 10/8 but you never imported the MXF file after that.

Everything should be good now once you close the both GUIs. The task will abort if either are open when it is scheduled to run. So close the GUIs, then open the configuration GUI again and click [Save & Execute]. It will create a new MXF file and import it into WMC.
