Changing schedule direct account in EPG123

#1

Post by geo100 » Mon Oct 26, 2020 1:43 pm

Hello, I succeeded using epg123 after 10 days experimenting with trial accounts of schedule direct.
Question:
- what is the easiest way to change from the trial account to an now existing 1-year accout?

Depends on your current setup. Are you saying that the account you currently have configured in epg123 is a trial, but you have a separate 1-year account (different username/password)? If the configured account is the same as the 1-year account, then there is nothing to do unless you changed the password.

Still not a clear picture, but to change the user/password, you can delete the configuration file (c:\programdata\garyan2\epg123\epg123.cfg). When you open the configuration GUI, it will prompt for username/password.

thanks for the moment - I will try it tomorrow, since my wife is using the TV with WMC now ;=)

I hope when I delete c:\programdata\garyan2\epg123\epg123.cfg the channel / Guide configuration is unchanged, since I spent many hours to configer it.
Reason: I could not find all channels I am using in the lineup "Free Astra 19.2 "... so I had to add channels manually by putting data of https://www.satindex.de/sat/astra-free/ in the WMC transpondersearch.

Then I would suggest instead of deleting the epg123.cfg file, you edit it instead to remove the UserAccount information. This will keep whatever station you have configured to download in place. Keep in mind, that a different SD user account could also mean different lineups subscribed to for the new account.

Edit epg123.cfg and delete the following lines.

Code: Select all

  <UserAccount>
    <LoginName>your user name</LoginName>
    <PasswordHash>hash code for your password</PasswordHash>
  </UserAccount>
Note this is strictly for configuring what epg123 downloads. Your WMC configuration will not be changed.

Hello Gary,

everything now okay: after deleting account information in epg123.cfg I could use the new "longterm" account.

thank you very much for your fast help
