v1.4.x.x Bug

#1

Post by garyan2 » Fri Oct 16, 2020 1:18 am

With the help of WMCLives, I found a bug in the v1.4 release that would fail at stage 1 of an update due to a new station being added to a lineup. I would push out an update quickly on something like this, but I am in the middle of some large code additions. If you find something similar to the below, all you need to do is open the configuration GUI and click [Save] or [Save & Execute] to "fix" the problem and next update should work.

I expect next release to be within a couple weeks.

Code: Select all

[10/15/2020 4:23:02 PM] Entering buildLineupServices() for 2 lineups.
[10/15/2020 4:23:02 PM] [ INFO] Successfully retrieved the station mapping for lineup USA-NY58806-X.
[10/15/2020 4:23:03 PM] [ERROR] Unhandled exception caught from epg123.exe. message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
The issue will occur after the "Entering buildLineupServices() for X lineups" but before the "Exiting buildLineupServices()" entries.

A user helped me find another bug. If version 1.4.x.x was the very first version of epg123 you installed, you will not be able to save changes to your configuration file if you are not running with elevated privileges. If you need to make changes to your configuration file, run the configuration GUI as administrator to do so. Your task will still run since it uses the SYSTEM account and has permissions to write to the folder(s).

If you upgrade from a previous version, your permissions for the programdata\garyan2\epg123 folder has the permissions needed. It is just a new fresh install of epg123 version 1.4.x.x.
