loadmxf.exe error

#1

Post by Mike@markradel.com » Tue May 12, 2020 2:01 pm

I started getting the following error since May 10th.
[5/12/2020 9:05:51 AM] [ INFO] There are no tuners associated with "329 : - 1E501 = { (329 : - 8FBF) + [ ] }".
[5/12/2020 9:07:39 AM] Entering importMxfFile() for file "C:\ProgramData\GaRyan2\epg123\output\epg123.mxf"
[5/12/2020 9:08:13 AM] [ INFO] Error: The following error was encountered while processing the file. Aborting.
[5/12/2020 9:08:13 AM] [ INFO] RowSet::DeleteRow(Program_keywords Program_keywordsI_ParentChildKey) - DeleteRows() failed for handle 1 - HR = 0x80040e21, minor = 25104, 2049, 0, 0, "", "", ""
[5/12/2020 9:08:13 AM] [ERROR] Error using loadmxf.exe to import new guide information. Exit code: -1
[5/12/2020 9:08:13 AM] Exiting importMxfFile(). FAILURE
I receive this error during the daily run of EPG and also when I tried a manual import. I did a restore from backup back to May 5th and that worked for a few days, but the error has returned. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

This error shows a WMC database error/corruption. You can try to run from a command prompt "START /WAIT c:\windows\ehome\mcupdate.exe -uf -dbgc". It will do a garbage cleanup and possible fix the database problem. If not, next step would be to use the [Rebuild WMC Database] feature in the client.

When you say you restored a backup to May 5th, you're not talking about the EPG123 WMC backup are you? You are talking about some file system backup?

I did a total system restore from backup. I will try your suggestions and let you know the result. Thank you for the quick response.

I tried the command in an elevated prompt. It ran to completion but the "Save and Execute" and manual imports still failed with the same error. There must be an underlying reason for the corruption since it has happened twice so, rather than rebuild the WMC DB at this time, I did a system restore from May 5th again. I installed the latest version of EPG123 (1.3.7.10), ran a "Save and Execute" and that was successful.

I will track and attempt to resolve any errors that show up in the event log. I will keep you informed.

Don't be surprised if within a week it does it again. Seems to me your backup from the 5th was already needing help but you get some time before it is bad enough to cause loadmxf to fail.
