Half of channels have no guide data

#1

Post by mcemike99 » Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:37 pm

I saw this issue a couple weeks ago but figured it would work itself but now about half of my channels have no guide data. The scheduled task is running properly and retrieving data from Schedules Direct. I see some of the shows in it that the guide is missing data for so it looks like the problem is in applying the data to MCE. The epg123 log file has no errors. I tried the “Manual Channel Matching” from the epg123 help file. I updated to the latest epg123 and tried both a manual import of the MXF file and a “Rebuild Database” and restarting my MCE/Win7 box but neither have fixed it. I have a heavily customized guide, is there anything else I can try before I wipe it out and go back through the MCE setup? I attached a screenshot from my epg123 client.

I'm new to this, but it looks like you still have some channels using Rovi data.

See that "Subscribed Lineup" column? Some have "EPG123..." others don't, those others are not using the EPG123 listings. Did you do the step 1 clean start when you set things up initially?

You can probably fix it by doing this, but a clean start is the best way to fix it as you still have Rovi data in there and it can cause issues.

You did remember to deny the Program Guide Terms of Service when you did a TV Setup (Step 2). Did you do a Step 1 - Clean Start?

If you look at the Subscribed Lineup Column, any channel that does not have an entry starting with EPG123 is using guide data from MS/Rovi ... No data available.

Unfortunately, performing a setup will lose all your custom channel numbering. I have no way of transferring that. I would recommend performing a setup per the installation instructions and deny the Program Guide Terms of Service. http://epg123.garyan2.net/install/

Thanks for the replies. Something I did yesterday must have fixed it because the guide is back to normal today but only for 12 days out instead of the usual 21. I'll follow the suggestions posted if the problem continues.

Thanks for the great software and keeping MCE going Gary!

You still are using MS/Rovi data for many of your channels. They will go away shortly, the reason your data came back is that MS fixed whatever was temporarily blocking their guide data feed. However, when they do their permanent cessation of guide support later this month those channels will again have no guide data.
