Update to EPG123... 77 days after installing it....
still perfect!
But my Cable-card died Monday (01-13-'20) and having 'EPG123' already installed and running perfectly was awesome!
The cable company was just as bad as the previous two times that a Cable-card of mine failed (and initial Cable-card pairing).
But, like before, they did do an awesome job on my cable and deserve all kinds of commendations.
They diagnosed and updated any cable inside and outside my house that needed it. In addition, they tested it all the way to the utility pole behind my house. One overlooked cable to a bedroom that was outdated and had two cheap splitters on it was replaced.
When all ^^ was done (it took two tech, two days) signal levels inside and outside were pristine again. They showed me this time on a new hand held device with a cool touch screen- that they started using less than a year ago- how perfect all signals on my cables were.
But when it came to pairing the replacement Cable-card... it was a total nightmare, again.
i'm not even going to mention the paradoxical, dis-functional, crazy jumping through hoops that the cable company's techs were forced to do. (Or did i.
) It was simply nuts!
Having 'EPG123' already installed and working perfect was a blessing. It simplified all possibilities and questions. In other words, I knew it (and/or EPG in general) was not the problem and not going to be a problem. And having'EPG123' installed insured that; after the replacement Cable-card was finally properly paired; I'd get the best possible use of my PC's resources.
After my new Cable-card was finally, properly paired, (an hour ago) all is perfect again.
And thanks to 'EPG123', WMC on my HTPC and four Xbox 360 extenders (2 MOCA + 2 Gbit eth) are as awesome as could ever be imagined.
