Same callsign different lineup

#1

Post by rimmel » Thu Jul 25, 2019 10:42 pm

While running extra epg123s for yesterdays SD outage I noticed something that did not seem right. Let me explain. I have two lineups. One is OTA and the other is cable. There are identical callsigns in the two lineups. Channel numbers are different for the identical callsigns. If I delete (uncheck) a channel in one lineup, the channel with the same callsign is deleted (unchecked) in the other lineup. Is that how this is supposed to work?? I am running epg123 1.2.15. My lineups are USA-OTA-99019 and USA-WA46544-X.

P.S. I just noticed that the StationIDs are also the same for identical Callsigns.

Just disable the undesired channels in the tuner web GUI instead.

They both have the same channel ID number and in epg123 and are therefore linked together. If you look at the epg123.xmltv file you'll see what I mean..

This is by design. Lineups are really nothing more than a list of stations that you have access to... it doesn't contain any stations. Another way is to say it - there is a station called CNNHD and there will be a whole bunch of providers/lineups that give you access to CNNHD. They are all the same; there is no such thing as a DISH CNNHD, or a DIRECTV CNNHD, or a YouTube TV CNNHD. So when you select a station for download, you are saying you want to watch that station and have guide listings for it regardless of the medium (OTA, Cable, Satellite, OTT, ...). If you unselect the station, you are saying the opposite. If, like in your case, you only want to watch that station via OTA or Cable, then you will have to disable the undesired guide channel in WMC or use the EPG123 Client.

I disabled the duplicate OTA channels in the HDHomeRun Prime channel list. They still show up in the epg123.xmltv file but not in the Emby Guide. Is it more efficient to disable them in the epg123 guide tool?

The epg123 guide tool is more efficient for the WMC guide, it will do nothing for the XMLTV file or the emby channels (unless using ServerWMC).
