It's rescan time around here over the next few weeks, as channels change frequencies. I guess I'll have to set some things up again. Does anyone have a few quick bullets of the tasks in order?

I'm getting too old for this...

I am also interested in a quick tips for the rescan process. How we scan for the new frequencies and how does this affect EPG123?

Thanks

My personal preference is to clear out all the current scanned channels and scan again. It is cleaner in my opinion.

In WMC, goto Settings->TV->TV Signal->Scan for More Channels. Click the [Delete All] button, and then the [Scan again] button. When it is done, just go to the EPG123 Client, select your OTA lineup, and click the Match by: [# Number] button. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

EDIT: Sorry, you asked for bullets ... ;)
  • In WMC, goto Settings->TV->TV Signal->Scan for More Channels
  • (Optional) Click the [Delete All] button and acknowledge
  • Click the [Scan again] button and wait for completion
  • Close WMC. Open EPG123 Client
  • Select your OTA lineup on the right-side
  • Click the Match by: [# Number] button
NOTE: If your area has stations in the VHF channels (2-13) and chose to [Delete All] then you will have to add those channels again manually.

And indeed, it's just that simple. Worked great. Thanks.
