Client not always able to grab mxf file - sleep issue?

Server computer is allowed to sleep, and is set to wake and get mxf file at 22:00. The server successfully wakes and downloads, every time.
Since the server is known to be awake for this task, I thought it would be a good time to have my always running client computer scheduled to grab the mxf file from server at 22:02.
This often does work, but about half of the time I am getting the "mxf file not found" in the client log file.

I have experimented with this, and when the server performs the download task, it barely wakes up,(monitors do not fire up), and quickly sleeps again, like after 3-4 minutes - which leaves a short window for the client computer to grab the file. I am sure it takes some time for the network to be made available on the server too.

I tried adding a cmd.exe open and close to the epg123 event in the task scheduler to get the computer to stay awake longer, but it still did not fire up the screens or keep the computer awake longer than the 3 to 4 minutes.

Any suggestions on how to get a longer or "more thorough" wake on the server? Some other task that could be added to the task scheduler? Or am I even on the right track here?

There some sleep prevention programs out there that can be set to keep awake for a set amount of time IIRC.
Not sure if they can be task scheduler invoked, but I would investigate them to see if one can do what you want.

You could add an action in the scheduled task to use the timeout program for up to 99999 seconds.

I'm a little confused on why your server sleeps but your client is always on. Why not have the client generate the mxf file and if need be share with other clients?

The client is my windows 7 theater PC, which will no longer have internet as of next January (I will only be letting it hit the local network for security purposes). My server is a desktop which is allowed to sleep.

As a side note, the theater PC was having a hard time grabbing the mxf file form the server, regardless if it was asleep or not (likely because it does not have an interent connection). I downloaded Synback Free, and set my desktop server to push the file to a folder on the theater PC, and it is set to run daily just minutes after when the server downloads from scheds direct. That seems to work much better.
