Adding More Tuners

#1

Post by amarkowi » Tue Jan 08, 2019 5:39 pm

Hi

I haven't upgraded in a while, still running 1.1.17. I want to upgrade to the latest version, and need to rerun 7MC Setup to add more tuners (going from 4 to 8 OTA).

Suggestions on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated, so I don't loose my guide configuration or recording schedule.

I'm installed to C:\epg123, and prefer to keep it there. The tuner limit was increased during my initial install.

Thanks

There have been quite a few changes since 1.1.17, but that is not a problem. You will have a couple things you will need to pay attention to. If you use the install package, just run it and if prompted for a location, direct it to c:\epg123.

TODOs:
  • Due to a change in location of the output mxf file, you will need to delete your current task and create a new one.
  • The client, initially, will not show your EPG123 lineup due to me changing the lineup title from a single "EPG123 Lineups with Schedules Direct" to actual lineup names. Once you run an update, the new lineup will be there so everything will be good.
TV Setup:
I learned that the tuner limit increase is not a permanent setting. An update on the database from mcupdate can restore that limit back to 4. I suggest you apply the limit increase again prior to running TV Setup again. There is no need to start from scratch to add the new tuners... just run TV Setup in WMC (after applying the tuner increase again), import your new MXF file, and everything will be fine. All your recordings and history will be intact.
