I have a PC that stays on most of the day.
I want to configure it as the server that other PC's look to for guide updates.
But the install PDF doesn't really clarify if that's possible?
I want it to create the guides.
Server them to other clients.
And also "feed itself" so I can watch TV on the PC that's acting as the server.
Is it possible?
Setup PC as client/server/client?

Absolutely. Your server will be set up normally (Steps 1, 2, and 3). Its task will be set up as "Full Mode." Your clients will be set up as "Client Mode" and pointing to the epg123.mxf file in your shared server folder.CZ Eddie wrote:I have a PC that stays on most of the day.

That part of the guide kind of made it sound to me like it would update itself but not other clients.
I probably just didn't read close enough though.

ok, I am confused on this configuration. I have the same thing. Do I:
1. configure EPG123 server on main MCE PC
2. configure EPG123 client PC on the same main PC
3. configure EPG123 client on the other client PCs
My question is can I run server and client mode on the same PC? I assume yes but want to verify. That is PC is on all the time so I want it to the get the file, put it on my NAS box, and then itself and the other PCs get the file.
Thanks Gary,
Purpleb

For any machine that will both create the MXF file and import into a local WMC, do steps 1, 2, and 3 (server and client both).
For machines that are only going to import a MXF file that was created somewhere else, do steps 1 and 2 only (client only).
For machines that are only going to create the MXF file, do step 3 only (server only)
All configurations will need a scheduled task created which is the "Final Step" in the guide.
