TV Setup cannot continue

On a Win 8 machine I am setting up, I have run into an error where when I attempt to setup live TV, I get an error message saying tv setup cannot continue. I am using aboddi's v12 WMC, and epg123. I have playready installed. I have tried so far removing and adding WMC, deleting mcepg.db & folder, and running mcupdate.exe mediacenterrecovery task. Any more help on this would be appreciated. EPG123 is the only media center related thing I have installed on the machine, and it has all current updates. When I set WMC up, I went through the normal setup up to the point where playready was installed. I'm not sure if setup data for live TV ever completed, and I never agreed to the WMC guide,

I don't know where/when you are getting that error message, but if it is at the "Downloading TV Setup Data" stage then there is an interesting work-around... disconnect your network cable or disable your network adapter and run TV Setup. With the network cable disconnected, you will get a different message box but it will let you proceed with TV Setup. Just remember to reconnect your network cable or re-enable your network adapter before proceeding (especially if you have network tuners).

Gary, I think I had botched WMC install so I removed WMC and used an alternative installer. This solved my problem but I appreciate your help.
