Just lost my digital cable channels

#1

Post by kkingsto » Mon Jun 20, 2022 3:22 pm

Opened up WMC and discovered no channels would record. Guide only shows one channel off of an antenna.

Went into the client, and none of my digital channels was in the left pane. How do I get them back? I have a backup from 1.5 years ago but don't want to use that as I'd have to clean things up.

Thanks

1.7.1.11 Ended up using the backup from 1.5 years ago and cleaned things up. Was not as bad as I expected.

Feature Request: Can we have a scheduled backup for the database? Ie once a week or something?

The database is backed up every 5 days on the same schedule as the garbage cleanup.

If that's the case, where is the backup stored? I have a backups directory off of my EPG123 directory which is where I found my existing backups. But not the 5 days backups.

Every 5 days, along with the garbage collection, EPG123 will trigger WMC to create backups of its configurations. Those files are located at c:\programdata\microsoft\ehome\mcepgX-Y\backup in folders \lineup, \recordings, and \subscriptions.

When you click the [Backup] button in the client, it will command WMC to create the backups, and then package the resulting files into a zip file in the epg123 \backup folder. It does not create the zip file every 5 days... only on demand by the user.

Got it. Thanks, Gary.
