WMC install on WIN10 21H1 build 19043.1466?
I am a long-time user of WMC on WIN7 systems and decided to take the leap to see if I could get it running on one of my WIN10 systems. So I downloaded the WMC-8.8.5 zip, files extracted them onto the system and ran the files as an admin then rebooted the system. BTW, this is a "clean" system (i.e., new install of WIN10) that I am trying to run WMC on. As far as I can tell, everything went smoothly but when I try to start WMC, nothing happens. I get an hourglass that flashes on the screen but nothing after that. I'm wondering if the problem is due to the version of WIN10 I have on the system which is 21H1 build 19043.1466. Has anyone had success installing WMC-V8.8.5 on this version of WIN10? Were there any tricks needed to get it to work? Otherwise, looking for suggestions. Thanks in advance!

8.8.5 should work fine on that build of Windows.
Have you tried launching WMC as administrator?
I've had to do that the first time on a few new builds.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried launching as an administrator and got the same result.
I will try uninstalling and reinstalling and then try starting WMC the first time as an administrator to see if that works.

Did you let windows update before installing WMC? I've had problems where windows updates break WMC install while in progress. Sometimes an update sneaks in and disrupts the process!

I was able to get it to work.
My problem, I believe, was I had WMC version 8.8.4 and not version 8.8.5. Once I uninstalled the old version and downloaded and installed version 8.5.5 (in administrator mode) it started up as expected. Apparently, version 8.8.4 does not work on this build.
Oh, and I also made sure all updates were installed and that the date/time was correct.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Yeah, that's because MSSQLLite was removed in later builds of Windows 10 (and 11) and WMC 8.8.5 was the first version of that branch to reinstate the required files and registry entries as part of the installation process.
