Xbox 360 Media Remote (1493) for use in WMC on Windows 10?
Hello there:
I have a Xbox 360 Media Remote and I want to use it for WMC on Windows 10, the bad thing is that there is literally no documentation on how to do this anywhere , I wonder if you guys can help.

I assume you have seen this: http://irdb.tk/codes/
It seems there a number of different remotes available for the XBox.
There is a bit of software called showkey that I used to try and work out what was being sent from my remote, which might help you find out which one you have.
I know that some keys can be remapped in Windows but I've never done it myself.
I did have a go at translating codes using software including eventghost but it was too much work for me.
A good resource for info on infrared remotes was the xbmc (now kodi) forum but I haven't looked at that for ages.

I haven't seen that website that you have sent me, I tried clicking on it but it says 405 Method not Allowed. I tried going to the Wayback Machine to try to see what the website looks like but it says the same thing.
I don't know what showkey is, I tried looking it up but I only found a program called ShowKeyPlus which shows your Windows product key for Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 10.
I could try looking through the XBMC forum, thanks for the advice!

So it does.
Try this link: http://irdb.tk/find/ and select Microsoft from the drop down.
I found showkey.exe through the xbmc forum and it is here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/xbmcmc ... e/download
It looks a bit dodgy but it is OK. let me know if you can't get it....

I'll help out if I can but I don't think it is a trivial thing to do.
The first thing would be to find out the code the remote sends for each of the buttons using something like showkey.exe.
Next, you would need to figure out whether they can be mapped to the required WMC functions.
