Moving recording storage

Hi, i have just migrated to win 10 from 7 (clean install) have setup WMC-V8.8.4 it appears to be working correctly with the exception of when i go into settings, recorder, to change storage from default c drive
it allows me to select an alternative HD letter but then it just sits there and the save button is none active if i try to close the app that screen goes black and i the need to use task manager to close it down!
Any help would be most appreciated
