*THIS* is the kicker:
"Depending on your location, some channels will not have metadata in your guide. This presents as "no information available" in the guide, however you will be able to tune and watch that channel."
Q: At what point does a PVR stop being a PVR Microsoft?!
A: When it's a legacy product you silly user!
The third party guide solution continues to gather strength.

Don't worry, Ed informed me that Microsoft doesn't care enough about WMC users to hatch that dastardly a plot.

Well, it's not really a plot, just the progressive result of a legacy product over time+new product development.

It looks like the guide provider really did change, and it was seamless, in my case at least. No lost channels or lost data, and no schedule issues. My clue was I now see multiple lineups in About, and Guide Tool was reset and shows a couple more/different schedules. I'm impressed that I got a full 14 days of data on every channel. That's rare for me. About still shows Zap2It as the provider, but that's probably either hard coded or an oversight. Fingers crossed that it continues to work well.

Message #1 says "Certain series will stop recording the show even though that series will continue to show in the recordings list. You will have to "stop" recording the series and set the recording again."
Any idea how to identify these series so I know which ones set up again?

Try rerunning tuner setup. Let us know if it fixes them.

Did you have to re-run tuner setup?
How many is multiple?
I have Comcast cable card and have always seen two: one for "Stockton, Comcast (Digital)" and one for "Digital Terrestrial".
I have not seen any change, but I have not re-run setup. Are we supposed to?

As a test I reran setup yesterday, but not sure anything changed. I did notice less options for my zip code than in the past. The two recordings scheduled for last night worked fine. This change was smooth as silk, or more likely hasn't happened yet, at least for me

3 - DirecTV (which I've never set up in WMC), my cable system and one other, maybe OTA (I don't remember). Guide tool shows 14 providers, a little more than I had before.

I did not and don't plan to unless I run into schedule problems later. Looks good as is. I did force a guide update.

After a good deal of messing around with guide updates this morning I finally reset my tuners using the Ceton Diag Tool, rediscovered, then reran TV Signal setup in WMC. I had been using the same guide for years with no trouble but after checking Zap2It for the names of guides for my zip discovered that the only one listed now for my zip has a different name.
So after set up, my About Guide now says I have two different guides than I did before. The Digital Cable one and one for OTA. Same as before but different names/IDs both. And the copyright for both is Rovi, no longer Zap2It.
Here's the thing, I have guide data populated out a full 14 days but after July 21, 5:00pm it's all "No Data Available" on every channel. Can anyone confirm they have Rovi providing guide data *and* data after the 21st?

Yes, I have some "No Data..." near the end, but not every channel. Even 13 days of data isn't bad, so I'm not too concerned.

Every channel is "No Data" on mine and it's only 12 days so that's why I'm concerned. I guess the next update tonight will tell the tale.
ED: Actually you're right mdavej, it's 12+ days for me since it goes from now to July 21, 5pm which is past 12 full days as of this AM.

I did a manual guide update, it picked up two more days and now goes out to the 22nd, but still shows Zap2it.
So I guess we do have to re-run setup to get it to show Rovi.

This morning I performed a "refresh" of Windows 8.1x64 (due to some stability issues) and I am unable to get any guide listings for my zip code. I was unaware of this transition until I started searching for help. As of now, I have been able to setup live TV but my guide in WMC says "no data". I'm in the Los Angeles area with FIOS.
I've tried disabling WMC/deleting ehome folder contents/re-enabling WMC but the problem persists. Anyone else having issues similar to this?

Sounds like you need to notify MS per the first post.
But this is also a symptom of being unable to contact the server, for which there are also workarounds in other threads (adding a couple of hosts file entries).

I am not sure about this. I ran a total tv setup yesterday, and still have zap2it with a full guide up til the 22nd. Maybe this is a roll out by region starting on the 7th

Thanks. Yes, my searches brought up a long thread about the host file entries. My hosts file looks like this:
# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost
65.55.5.170 data.tvdownload.microsoft.com
2.16.216.176 cdn.epg.tvdownload.microsoft.com
Are these addresses still good?
I also ran the flushdns command after making these changes but I am still having no luck...

Here is a little more info for those interested.. Josh Pollard did a write up on this guide update here
http://www.thedigitalmediazone.com/2015 ... ter-guide/
Official MS Support article
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3078428
I would think this would be a staggered roll out so that MS can adjust or fix any issues that come up. I live on the East Coast and I haven't gotten the updated guide provider yet.

No. Try 65.55.186.113 and 72.246.56.59 instead.

Brilliant!! Thanks, that did the trick.
