65.55.186.113 data.tvdownload.microsoft.com
72.246.56.59 cdn.epg.tvdownload.microsoft.com

Once I put this in my HOSTS.....BAM tv setup worked flawlessly and I have ROVI guide data now. My only complaint is MCL had issue with quite a few channels due to the way ROVI names them compared to Zap2It
Bingo! I hate having to play DNS roulette, but at least these ones seem to be working for now.

So here in Seattle area, my lineup seems to be accurate (at least once I delete all the channels I don't get or want) I had 184 channels set to show on my guide before all this, and 184 now so seems they at least got my area's lineup ok. I will say using Media Center Logo's is a pita with the ROVI data as their channel names don't match up for shit. no biggie though.

This whole thumbnails thing is really bugging me. I tried a brand new installation of Windows 7, changed the hosts file so it would download the listings, ran TV Setup with a random zip code in Florida (opposite side of the country for me), yet still the thumbnails are all over the place. I submitted a feedback report on the Microsoft site, but this is really weird, I thought a brand new installation of Windows would clear things out...

What thumbnails are you talking about?

The change over seems to have worked, BUT now am getting errors on updates (will retry) and the problem seems to be "nettv" which it can't find. Did have some successful updates yesterday and thought it was fixed, but guess not. Guide listings are complete through July 25 right now for Los Angles TWC west valley.

Movie Posters are all messed up. Many are just missing, a good amount are just for the wrong movie. More errors on both parts than I ever saw before with Rovi. Star ratings on movies also appear to not be there any more. Dunno if that's what he's talking about.

Yeah some movies are wrong too (or shows have movie thumbnails).

On the EPG guide, when you're moused over a show, next to the description blurb on the bottom to the left, there's a thumbnail poster type photo of the show. If you hit the more info button to bring up the synopsis/action/... window, the thumbnail is on that screen too. The issue for me is that for nearly every show, the thumbnail that shows up is mismatched (the thumbnail for Tavis Smiley shows up for an episode of SpongeBob, for example).

GJ MS! As good as I'd expect, lol

I know it's really Rovi, not them. Still, could have left well enough alone :P But, also can't blame 'em for trying to pinch pennies where they can.

It looks as though the Rovi meta string for each XMLTV show and movie is not quite the same format as the zap2it data.

This seems to be turning into a huge mess.. Maybe it would have been easier for them to switch the xbox one to zap2it .. Not only does it Bork the guide, movie posters and tv show artwork but also breaks the My Media Center app so premieres no longer works along with screwing up My Channel logos.. Awesome MS. Thanks.. Ugh :(

I think I actually prefer Rovi just for the marquees on every show and movie in the guide. It's the little details that count. ;)

I'm still waiting for change (to see if I actually will as I am Canada), and am not planning to force DNS, as I want to see what happens naturally.
If it all goes Pete Tong for me, I'm going to go the Big Screen EPG route.

Huh. Didn't bork anything for me. Went seamlessly. The first I knew about it was when checking in here today.

Of course, I'm now easy--straight OTA. Yes, I see that the channel tags on the left side of the guide have changed, but that apparently didn't cause any problems with my recording schedule.

Comcast Stockton CA

BEWARE... Since changing to Rovi, all these channels have the wrong timezone guide listings. They should be WEST COAST FEED. Rovi WMC guide is showing the EAST COAST guide listings, therefore all recordings on these channels will be FUBAR:

HGTV HD CH746
FOOD HD CH747
DISC HD CH750
ANIML HD CH751
TLC HD CH752
HIST HD CH758
BET HD CH777
AMC HD CH798
FXX HD CH803

Already had to cancel some stuff and create corrected manual channel/time recordings. Take notes because they won't have the correct show info...

You can decide where from a good source.

So potentially we could switch back to zap2it using schedules direct?

In theory yes although we get into the realms of legalities. I have tried pulling from zap2it recently on a test machine and it worked. I got a full two week XMLTV file. I used zap2xml.

Everything converted fine for me. I didn't even know the conversion was happening until I read this thread today. One issue I do see is a lot of duplicate recordings. Seem like the same show that happens to be available on different channels has different meta data and the recording sees it as a different show, recording it twice. An example for me is Frontline recording on channel 502 & 511. Otherwise all seems good.
