Stuck in Live TV Setup

I am trying to update EPG123. A reinstall didn't work as last step of 'Save and Execute' function (transfer files?) stopped without completing at various percents. So I tried a clean install.

I get to Step 2 and begin Live TV Setup. I 'Do Not Agree' and click OK. WMC then goes to program download page and waits. Forever.

How do I recover from this?

Updating EPG123 just requires the install file to be run... it simply replaces the executables with the new ones and you are done.

With a [Save & Execute] not finishing, and your WMC getting stuck on the Download page, I suspect you may have, or had, some network problems. For EPG123, you can look at the log file and see if there were timeouts occurring when downloading from SD.

To get back to where you were, you can use the client (as administrator) and click the [Restore] button... find the zip file that was created when you first decided to start with a Step 1 client setup. Once that is done, you will need to click the [Manual Import] button to import your MXF file which contains the guide listings.

I am having the same problem. I printed out the manual and followed the setup steps but WMC got stuck at the TV Setup screen after I selected No (ok, You have not agreed to the Terms of Service....) to the Microsoft Guide Listing. After I selected ok (You have not agreed to the Terms of Service...), the TV Setup screen came up and stated that Windows Media Center is Downloading the latest TV setup data for your region. WMC never finished this step. I closed WMC and was able to do all the other things with Schedules Direct. When I go to the TV Menu in WMC I have two items Recorded tv (and can access my recordings) and an icon for live tv setup. I've tried live tv setup (again) and it will not complete. Has Microsoft done something that is preventing it from completing?

It's having some regional problems with that stage of the TV Setup process... hopefully this is something they get rid of tomorrow so this will never be an issue again.

After several attempts I was able to get past the live tv setup by disconnecting my Ethernet cable at the zip code step. I now have a blank program guide so I'm trying to run EPG123 right now. It is going through a update/build process. I'll let you know if it works.
