If you have not rebooted your router recently you should probably also try that.

I wonder if my issue is on my MC. Upon requesting manually latest guide I get a notification soon afterwards that the download succeeded. In guide options I see that currently my guide expires 08/31. Either the guide download is empty or has missing entries, or the merge update doesn't work locally?

Its it possible that your lineup is not longer valid? Perhaps run guide setup again and select a new lineup? You can check lineups on tvguide.com to see if perhaps there is a new one available.

I've been getting regular guide updates from Microsoft. I think the worst it has gone is three days without updates, so it has not dropped to "just a few days" of guide data left, at least not recently.
Thanks for your response.

You are correct mine has not generally been under 7 days in quite a while...but it was down to about 5 days when I rebooted my router. I was responding to a user(s) who suggested theirs was down to just a few days or to zero days. Their problem seemed more recent. The description they provided was they could connect to the internet but media center itself was having a network problem. It sounded like Media Center guide data requests were not being properly handled .. like they were being redirected.

The last successful guide update for my system was 8/23 @ 10pm. Since then, any attempt to download a new update resulted in a "Guide listings were downloaded successfully" within 10 seconds without it actually downloading anything. Hopefully it will be cleared up early this week when people are back at work.

Has anyone else not had an update since Thursday/Friday?

I just sent an email to ROVI/TIVO asking them to contact Microsoft and tell them no EPG updates for four days.

I received an email back from TIVO:
David,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are reaching out to our contact at Microsoft to advise them of the situation.

Thank you,
Miranda

Saw the chatter here a few days ago when I noticed my epg running low but decided to wait and today got my update to 9/9 (SF Bay Area OTA).

I believe this has more to do with the changes in the new fall season lineups and is probably not a "guy going on vacation and not pushing the button"-issue nor Russian hackers.

If I recall correctly this is the third time in a row we have had a minor pause in data just before the new fall programming season begins.

Happy Labor day weekend everyone! Keep on WMCing to 2020 and beyond !

I figure something in the data is causing issues, and the new fall season means many new shows and more of a chance of one or more of them causing an issue. But it still probably takes manual intervention to correct the problem.

I intervened once about 3 years ago and haven't had a problem since.Image

It appears the EPG has not downloaded new data for about 3 or 4 days again, I sent an email to ROVI/TIVO asking them to contact Microsoft again about the outage.
