David, I had opened one also but forgot to post it. I am including it here so we can get both of them up-ticked and gain some traction on the MSFT front.

Also, I saw where you had posted to the MS community. Do you know if Barb is still around? I sent her an email on 4/30/17 but have not gotten a reply and I see she has not responded to your posting either. Sure hope we have not lost her too!!
I also hope Barb is still around, but I don't know her personally just from asking her help on the forum. So I hope like you do that she is still around since we have few people who know someone to get them working on EPG problems and Barb has been so helpful in the past.

Barb may still be around but her primary EPG conatct, Jon Fincher who claimed to be the head of "the EPG team" has left Microsoft. I'm not sure if she has any other EPG contacts.

Today's update contained no new data. If anyone is in communication with Rovi, please let them know the issues are not fixed.

Like a long, heavy train leaving the station, jerking back and forth.

Only this train never gathers speed and momentum.

Can't believe people are still using Rovi (and getting screwed for it). Thank God I got off that train when EPG123 came out

Not having any problems with Rovi.

That's very odd. Back when I was suckling the Rovi teat it seemed I was at Microsoft every other month filing reports about guide failures and watching the guide data decrease on a daily basis.

EPG123 took care of that and brought back quality guide data at the same time. The kind that Media Center used to have.

Well, I'm not staring at my guide every day, obsessed with it being as up to date as possible at any given time.

It's not run out, and I've missed maybe two shows over the last 18 months because Rovi had something marked as a rerun instead of new.

Do I panic over missing those two shows? Nope. I move on with my life, or--gasp!--if I cared, I could go to the network's web site the next day and watch it.

Thinking ahead to 2020, when MS ends Win7 support and I buy a new Win10 PC. Hoping a Win10 PVR/DVR program/app comes on the market by then. Does EPG123 require WMC? If all else fails in 2020, will use the Hauppauge software, which is ultra basic, like manually programming a VHS VCR to record TV shows listed online. I do like the convenience of watching OTA TV and using a PC on the same device. Smart TVs are getting there, but none equal a PC, yet.

BTW, just checked my EPG listings, good through 4 PM, 26 May, OTA Fresno-Visalia, California.

EPG123 is only intended for use with WMC. Other DVR software usually has its own EPG loading software, a lot of them also using the Schedules Direct data (XML or JSON APIs).

Sorry for the on topic post. Today's update contains no new data leaving us 3 days behind.

I'm satisfied with the quality of the Rovi data but obviously the delivery mechanism reliability needs improvement.

We had 5 month's of reliable daily updates last year. I want that back...

EPG123 allows WMC users to pay $25 per year to Schedules Direct for EPG info delivered reliably but is useless without that paid subscription.

I find the recurring off topic EPG123 spam about as annoying as the EPG outages.

I agree and further EPG123 posts will be deleted.
