Yep but 516 still works for now.
Has anyone had issues recording shows on NBC Boston? Some shows are being flagged to restrict/prevent recordings.

Everything on NBC has been flagged to prevent recordings. Somebody hit a button somewhere that they should not have.

FWIW, I just started a recording in JRiver Media Center on channels 60.5 (NBC OTA) and 510 (NBC CableCard) and both recordings started properly.qodfathr wrote:Everything on NBC has been flagged to prevent recordings. Somebody hit a button somewhere that they should not have.

Is it being flagged with CGMS CopyNever? Depending on what device you are using to decode the TV signal, there may be a firmware version to ignore CGMS.qodfathr wrote:Everything on NBC has been flagged to prevent recordings. Somebody hit a button somewhere that they should not have.
For instance on my HDHR Prime, I run firmware version 20150826 and it ignores any CGMS flags. There is also a pre-beta firmware for Ceton devices that does the same.
Note that I have seen posts about issues with WMC and the newest firmware for HDHR Prime, so I would recommend using 20150826 (although others using the more recent version can chime in here if they have had no issues). Remember, on the Primes, that once you upgrade to a newer firmware you cannot downgrade to an older version.
Here is a link to the older 20150826 Windows software/firmware for the Silicon Dust HDHR Prime:

Thanks. The issue is with my Ceton card which I primarily use, my HD homerun prime is fine. I tried the latest beta driver for Ceton and updated the firmware and it made no difference. I'll have to try contacting NBC to tell their engineers they are violating FCC rules.

Had to apply update via the tuner webpage as the diag tool didn't allow image uploads anymore.

Yeah, that is the pre-beta to which I was referring, I should have put the link to that thread in my post but I was being lazy, sorry about that.
I have the Prime, so was concentrating on that and neglected to add that additional link for the Ceton devices.

Has anyone figured out how to record on this station? I got the station working, but when anything tries to record, I get an error saying the broadcaster doesn't allow recording. This is only since it moved from 516 to 510.

You either have to contact the station and tell them to stop sending CGMS Copy-Never or you can update your tuner device to a firmware that ignores CGMS (as indicated earlier in this thread).
Since you never know when the network will set CGMS Copy-Never (it can be turned on or off at will on a per-show or even per-commercial basis), it is best to update your firmware.
