Guide did not update May 9, 2016

#1

Post by julez » Tue May 10, 2016 11:20 am

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum, so sorry if this topic has been covered! Our guide for WMC has not been updating, and as of yesterday, there is no more guide information on our system. I've restarted a few times, and now, it says that the guide has successfully updated, but there's still no data available. Is anyone else having this problem, and wondering if there's anything I can do to fix it. We can't record anything right now :(

Thanks!

You can check the Windows event logs for clues, perhaps. Maybe try running Live TV setup if you haven't, in case your lineup changed. Haven't seen mass reports of guide data outages for the last week. Let us know if OTA or cablecard, any additional info you have. Your "worst case" scenario is look at the EPG123 threads and switch to that.

Yes a lot of history about guide problems available on this forum and the rovi switch. EPG123 might only be considered worst case because there will be some set up, but might be well worth it. you should check it out, it is a very popular option that is being actively worked on.

We are over the air. The tv line up has not changed. I am in Houston, Texas area, zip code 77450. I'm going to check again when I get home from work today...and I'll research this EPG123 and rovi switch, since I'm not familiar with it.

Run the ObjectStoreRecovery task in the Task Scheduler. I have to run it occasionally when the guide doesn't update. It clears my old data and then does a full download of the guide. Just make sure you let it run until it's done.
