Every so often, the "Evaluation Mode" shows up on the WMC home page on the bottom right.
It goes away if I close out WMC and restart.
Is there a fix for this?

I do have my computer set to auto restart every morning and automatically open WMC into full screen.
Every time I turn on the TV and see that main screen, the evaluation mode is showing.
And, yes, I purchased licenses and they're installed properly.
Thanks

WMC automatically looks up your UI+ activation status at startup. Since you have set WMC to run at Windows logon, the background server that handles this may not be running yet. Because the request fails, the watermark is displayed.

It is actually not necessary to restart WMC when this occurs. Simply navigating to another area of WMC and back to the Start menu should remove the message. However, it would be preferred to delay the startup of WMC if possible or, as a workaround, launch WMC to a different entry point.

I can see that only your first activation code is in use. Your additional codes have not yet been activated.

Thanks for the reply Mike!
Yeah, I didn't activate the other codes yet as I'm still testing out the waters with my main HTPC.

Minor bug report: The "0" zero key on the remote nor on the keyboard removes the highlighted item in the recent channels side panel.

Actually, if you use the numeric keypad, it does function properly.

Out of curiosity, what kind of remote do you have? Is it the standard IR MCE remote or something else?

Any way to change the old font at the start and end time of each program to match your newer style? Or is that the correct font, but just in bold?

I have further reviewed the functionality of this feature and have made an adjustment on input handling.

The latest build (181202) includes a minor fix for the recent channels feature, enabling the "0" button on a Media Center remote to properly remove a channel from the list.
jachin99 wrote: Sat Dec 01, 2018 4:03 am what kind of remote do you have?
I am using a regular IR MCE remote.
joelkirzner wrote: Sat Dec 01, 2018 11:45 pm is that the correct font, but just in bold?
Yes, a bold variant of the font is used for the program start and end times.

Hi - Although the question is pretty much moot, I have a regular IR MCE remote. I actually did not try the 0 on the keypad area, only the 0 on the top. -- Learned to type on a typewriter, so I just always type numbers from the top. Makes sense since they have different keycodes. Thank you though for making it work with the remote -- and for the quick response!

Ok, I have had more time to work on this, and to a certain extent, I have things working with a few issues. Issue 1 is I have to RDP into each extender before I can get the live TV buffers to work. Is this normal? Issue 2 is that I seem to have to go into each RDP session, and change the channel in order to update my recent channels list. I assume this is because my recent channels list isn't being populated from my "Main" WMC instance. Is there a way to use this feature without manually logging into a RDP session, and setting each channel before use? I was able partially fix my 2 issues, which were my recent channels not updating, and my extender accounts not being listed by logging into extender via RDP but now my regular WMC instance can't change which 2 channels are Linked, and my recent channels list isn't being updated based my main viewing instance. I have updated to the newest build.

Yes, the RDP sessions must be running in the background for the feature to work.
jachin99 wrote: Mon Dec 03, 2018 7:02 pm Issue 2 is that I seem to have to go into each RDP session, and change the channel in order to update my recent channels list.
This should not be necessary since any PC-based instance of WMC that tunes the new channel should log it, whether it's from the main OS or via RDP.

I haven't posted any specifics but I also have a crash on some recorded TV files when I hit the Info button. Its funny because it only seems to do it with certain files. I have tried disabling media center themer, etc. but the problem persists.

I think I found a pattern. If the length field is blank in the .Wtv metadata, then WMC shows a length of 1 minue in the recorded TV menu (And recorded TV HD menu), and pressing the info button while the file is playing will cause it to crash.

Hello, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and an amazing start to 2019 :)

Mike: The issue I previously had where on the Recorded TV screen if a thumbnail of the currently recording programme is highlighted then the text at the bottom of the screen "This programme is currently being recorded" is only half visible (bottom half of text is cut off) is showing again.
I remember last time it was due to older W7 and WMC Fonts, but this is on a fresh Windows 10 setup so fonts should be good, and the glitch persists with MCT enabled or disabled - so i don't believe it's that. When MMUI+ is disabled the text returns to its normal position and looks fine. I'm using 3840 Res and 125% scaling if it helps.

This one isnt really MMUI but perhaps someone knows how - If I use EPG123 to override MMUI EPG and return to a classic WMC style one all the fonts are in the newer version of Segoe apart from the guide times along the top of the grid the number 1 here has a line across the bottom unlike every other place in the UI - ive tried changing fonts using MCT tools but this makes no difference to any fonts throughout WMC. It's not really a big deal, but Im a little OCD!

Thanks again! :)

A new resource build is available (190113). It includes a number of improvements:
1. Opening the info bar for recordings that do not specify a duration will no longer crash WMC.
2. A channel subnumber of "0" will not be appended to the channel number displayed in program information in cases where the database was reset or the file came from another computer.
3. In the list of upcoming airings, season and episode numbers are now shown, as well as new/live/premiere/finale icons. The visible area of each upcoming program's episode title and description has also been expanded.
4. Manual recordings will no longer erroneously display default values for season and episode number or release year.
5. In recorded TV, the recording status text for active recordings has been adjusted to prevent being cut off.

Try updating to the latest build. If you are still experiencing issues, please provide some additional details about your recordings or a small sample file to help track down the problem.

You can change fonts in WMC globally using the following in your MCT theme file:

Code: Select all

<TextFormat>
	<Text Font="Segoe Media Center">
		<Replace Font="Segoe UI Semilight" />
	</Text>
	<Text Font="Segoe Media Center Light">
		<Replace Font="Segoe UI Light" />
	</Text>
	<Text Font="Segoe Media Center Semibold">

	</LegacyText>
	<LegacyText Font="Segoe Media Center Semibold">

Another great update Mike - I can confirm that the Recording text appears correctly using this build and having the extra information on the upcoming episodes screen is very handy. Thanks for the tip on the fonts - it worked a charm!

After using MMUI+ for a few months I have started to test integrating other well-known plugins into my media centers but I'll only describe my experiences with what I believe are a few of the most popular. Recorded TV HD and Emby for WMC. The primary benefit of each program is an enhanced UI, and better metadata so naturally one would only want MMUI+ to add those experiences, which it does. Assuming I play a WTV file, I get things like TMDB, and TVDB backdrops for library browsing with Recorded TV HD, and Video backdrops, fanart, trailers, and whole lot more with Emby. Even the default Movies strip is enhanced via full metadata for MKV files though I'm not too sure about how MMUI+ adds that metadata. For playback of WTV files and protected content I still get the sports, guide, recent channels, and information overlays during file playback in each. For MKVs, I get the information overlays natively in RTVHD, and with the proper settings in Emby to include cast & crew, reviews, etc. Adding Recorded TV HD to the start menu to replace the existing TV strip isn't too much of a hassle if your using Media Center Themer, and you know exactly what your doing. For me, it was a matter of moving the guide, and live TV tiles to the RTVHD strip, and Hiding the TV strip and placing my RTVHD strip in the right place on the start menu via MCT. I'll also comment that MMUI+ has come quite a ways in terms of debugging since its inception,

For web content, Simple radio with my updated providers list enables playback of web radio stations, and the Amazon Instant Video plugin still lets me view, and play content from my amazon account, although I need to email the developer about a few error messages.

You ever figure out how to get rid of the "res too Hight for WMC" message when running WMC at 4K ? I know you had the feature at one time but, it didn't work.

I'm on 7 but, tempted to go to my 8.1 partition but, due to that message popping up, I don't run it... I was able to get HEX edits done but, they are only for WMC under Windows 7 and under special versions of files.

Yes, the message is suppressed when using the modern theme.
