I opened a ticket.

From the sound of it, Ceton is looking to replace my card.

If that's what it takes, its what it takes. I'm just not sure that will be the fix to this problem. I'll try anything though. I dislike using cable company DVR's....

If the replacement does the same thing, I'll try a clean OS and BIOS install.

I received a replacement card from Ceton and it solved the problem.

I don't lose CP auth when I reboot now.

I went through all the steps with Ceton including swapping out the cableCARD. It was definitely a problem in the iTV4 itself. I dunno maybe some static discharge got to it.

Anyway, it's all good now. Time to start experimenting with sleep modes. :)

That is good to hear!

Do you have to completely uninstall and reinstall all the software and drivers and rediscover the tuners in WMC?

I'd be interested to hear your findings on the sleep modes.

My original card got back to Ceton on Saturday according to USPS....hopefully I can get a new one and have it back in working order before the olympics start.

Anytime you get a new OCUR device you have to run Windows MC TV Set-up again since each card has a unique serial number so if it's a Ceton or SD and you replace it you'll need to go through the steps. I usually run the Ceton driver install program and then run the diagnostic utility and remove tuner set-up information and then re-discover the tuners. At that point you can pair your old cableCARD to the new device and when you go through MC TV Set-up, it'll be ready to run. All your old recording and scheduled recordings will still be in place and you'll have new tuners.

What John said about reinstalling the ceton.

As far as sleep modes, its a no go for me. I can't access TV for a minute or two before everything reinitializes. That's too slow for me so Ill just keep it running 24/7 like I normally do. Not a real biggy.

I'm just happy it's all working now! Woot!

Have they sent your card out yet? I bet they do today and you receive it on the 25th. They ship it two-day FedEx. You have to be there to sign for it.

I just got the Tracking info email, so, that's what it looks like is going to happen. I'm usually home by the time the Fedex guy comes around.

A big +1 to the speed and class of Ceton's support thus far. Now the card just needs to work :)

Got the new card.

Probably made reinstalling the new one harder than I had to in some way by not going back over instructions....but I finally got it back up and running after about an hour.

Tested the problem by doing a PC restart after I had gained CP Auth from the Cable Co. Kept the CP Auth!

Awesome service from the folks at Ceton.

Now. Time to see what this thing is really capable of with some Olympic recording action.

Good to hear it!

I just got my iTV4 going really stable now (tuning adapter problems) and a new amp installed that got most my SNRs >32dB.

My ceton is blasting through recordings, Olympic style. As I hope yours is. ;)

I don't have 29/59 jittery, I haven't noticed the line macroblockng at all, the thing I've noticed is a few signal related pixellations. Hopefully my amp will now clear a portion of those.

All in all, very satisfied.

Oh yeah... knock on wood.
