Moving Ceton to another computer, have to pair again?

#1

Post by lucasbuck » Fri Mar 23, 2012 11:12 pm

A couple weeks ago I installed a Ceton, had it paired, etc. I'm building a new machine this weekend. When I move the card over, will it have to be paired again? I didn't know if the smartcard was paired with the PC, or the Ceton.

(On a side note, I've got 2 channel 933's listed in my guide. One is TLC, one is Planet Green. Either one I click goes to TLC. Is that something I need to fix in the Ceton tuning, or my cable company?)

Thanks for any info!

The cable card pairs to the Ceton InfiniTV, so as long as you move both together as a pair, you won't require re-pairing.

Agreed.. you will have to run the DCA and install the Ceton Drivers on the new PC etc... but the CC is paired to the InfiniTV. No need to call the Cable CO.

Go to Tasks > Settings > TV > Guide > Edit Channels. Find 933 Planet Green and select it, then click "Edit Listings". Find TLC in the list and click on it. Use the first option in the list to combine the channels, which will remove 933 Planet Green from the guide.
