Has the problem ever been solved?
Now DisplayPort is HDCP compliant per the spec, it is just that no one modified WMC. Is there any Hack or registry voodoo to get it done? I have no HDMI port and am stuck at this point

The solutions seem to be a USB3 to HDMI adapter or a DisplayPort to HDMI.
I will report back with what worked.

Problem solved with a DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor from Amazon (8$).
This was a complete rebuild of my ancient rig from 2012. I used a 200$ Lenovo M93p tiny from EBay, downgraded to Windows 7 ultimate. The tuner is a Ceton InfiniTV 6.
The i7 is doing a lot better than the Core Duo of the previous build. Now I can watch over a Ceton extender and one Xbox along with the main PC in HD without missing a beat (gbit wired network, cat6).
Still the best able interface existing after a decade. A shame the morons in Redmond made it go to waste.
