Bluray (PowerDVD 15) playback is getting more often choppy

I am using PowerDVD 15 for Bluray playback. It seems that newer movies more often exhibit some choppy pans.
I have looked at CPU, GPU usage and made sure I have latest software as much as possible.
I ma pretty certain it started during the last 6 months on new Netflix releases.

I have a LG WH16NS40 drive from 2016.

I realize this could be caused by many factors. Just wondering if anybody ever came across a similar issue and found a solution.

After further testing, if I switch to 60Hz playback in driver settings I am "ok". By default PowerDVD selects 23Hz. Even if I switch to 24Hz I have choppy playback.
I know 60Hz isn't ideal either. Just wondering what other people are using for playback.
