File Watcher issue after drive replacement

#1

Post by dvines » Thu Jul 19, 2018 11:05 pm

My setup has C: = SS HDD for the system and E: = 2 TB HDD for video. Ran great for 2 years, then the video drive started making noise. Swapped it out and things seemed to be working, but then I found that there has been no commercial detection since the video drive swap. Before the swap, the video drive was D:, and the system assigned E: to the new drive (I had them both connected so I could copy the recorded video to the new drive). I simply told Media Center to record on E: . If I use the DvrmsToolbox GUI, it seems to work - finds commercials and makes xml files. But left alone, I find a file in the FWlog folder for a new recording (File Watcher must have found it) but no xml or other files for the recording. Any suggestions?

Why not just label the new drive with the old drive letter?

That worked. I guess I can make problems bigger than they have to be. I uninstalled and reinstalled DvrmsToolbox and Comskip, and you would think everything would be straightened out. But obviously not. Thanks for your suggestion.
