WMC W8 vs W7
Hi Everyone,
I'm currently running WMC with W8 currently & seem to have freezes (not everytime, but on a semi regular occurance) when using "addons" such as Emby or RecordedTVHD. Usually after about 30 seconds or so, the extender will show it lost connection, etc & when usually the only way to get it connect back is to turn It off & back on.
What I wanted to find out is if people are having better luck using W7 of WMC compared to W8 especially on issues I described above.
Thanks

cAn't help you on that specific but as a general query anyone got any views as a whole on W8 vs W7. I'm on 7 but seeing as Windows 8 is the end of the line for WMC wondered if I'd be better going on 8 as support might last a bit longer but....... W7 works pretty well for me and I'm not looking for problems that may screw up my lounge TV setup
cheers

Too late. You can't buy Media Center Pack for Win 8 anymore.

I have had better performance/stability with add-ons (Emby & Recorded TV HD) using Win7 vs 8.

If you already have a license, then it should work. The only issue is if you have the same problems trying to initially get channel guide information

I'm not using it like you, but recently I've had freezes with a new video card that is HDMI 2.0 capable (even at 1080p). All the drivers I downloaded behaved the same regarding freezing some time during playback.
I solved it by unchecking "Inverse Telecine".
Not sure if this applies to you but maybe you can try that. Perhaps it has something to do with HDMI 2.0 support or something, I dunno.
