EPG Update Fails Every 2-3 Days Until Rebooted

I'm using version 1.7.1.12 of the EPG123 guide. It works great, with one exception. Every few days, like this morning for example, the daily update fails, citing the following from the trace log:

[12/7/2022 8:33:34 AM] Exiting RunWmcIndexTask(PvrScheduleTask). SUCCESS.
[12/7/2022 8:33:34 AM] Entering RunWmcIndexTask(ReindexSearchRoot)
[12/7/2022 8:33:34 AM] [ INFO] ERROR: Not enough storage is available to process this command.
[12/7/2022 8:33:34 AM] [ INFO] Error using schtasks.exe to start ReindexSearchRoot task. Exit code: 1
[12/7/2022 8:33:34 AM] [ INFO] Attempting "ehPrivJob.exe /DoReindexSearchRoot" to index data.
[12/7/2022 8:33:34 AM] [ERROR] Error using ehPrivJob.exe to start ReindexSearchRoot task. Exit code: -2147024888
[12/7/2022 8:33:34 AM] Exiting RunWmcIndexTask(ReindexSearchRoot). FAILURE.
[12/7/2022 8:33:34 AM] [ INFO] MXF file was created on 12/7/2022 7:56:01 AM
[12/7/2022 8:33:34 AM] [ INFO] Completed EPG123 client execution.
[12/7/2022 8:33:34 AM] [ INFO] EPG123 client execution time was 00:36:03.6670533.

Rebooting my media center PC remedies the issue, and the system will update just fine for a few days thereafter. But invariably, the issue comes back, requiring a reboot.

Any ideas how to NOT lose "...enough storage...to process this command"?

Sounds like it might be Windows Search. Open Control Panel, select Indexing Options, click the [Advanced] button, and then the [Rebuild] button. See if that clears up the issue.

Thanks for the quick response, Gary. I took the action you recommended and we'll see if that fixes the need to reboot when the daily update fails.

HI, Gary,

Well, the guide update task completed successfully for about 6 days after I performed the index rebuild you suggested. But alas, today's daily update failed again, requiring a reboot to accomplish renewing the guide content. Here's the log entry:

[12/13/2022 7:12:33 PM] Entering RunWmcIndexTask(PvrScheduleTask)
[12/13/2022 7:12:33 PM] [ INFO] ERROR: Not enough storage is available to process this command.

[12/13/2022 7:12:33 PM] [ INFO] Attempting "mcupdate.exe -PvrSchedule -nogc" to index data.
[12/13/2022 7:12:40 PM] [ INFO] Successfully completed the PvrScheduleTask task. Exit code: 0
[12/13/2022 7:12:40 PM] Exiting RunWmcIndexTask(PvrScheduleTask). SUCCESS.
[12/13/2022 7:12:40 PM] Entering RunWmcIndexTask(ReindexSearchRoot)
[12/13/2022 7:12:40 PM] [ INFO] ERROR: Not enough storage is available to process this command.
[12/13/2022 7:12:40 PM] [ INFO] Error using schtasks.exe to start ReindexSearchRoot task. Exit code: 1

[12/13/2022 7:12:40 PM] [ INFO] MXF file was created on 12/13/2022 7:07:02 PM
[12/13/2022 7:12:40 PM] [ INFO] Completed EPG123 client execution.
[12/13/2022 7:12:40 PM] [ INFO] EPG123 client execution time was 00:04:11.5695636.

Is the "not enough storage" part referring to memory or disk space?

Appreciate any suggestions, bud.

In this case, it is probably referring to memory. When this happens, how much memory do you have available?
