Hello! Finally getting around to setting up my network and attempting to reconfigure my VM of 8.1 w/ media center
It had my previous zipcode which determines the guide so I wanted to know how can I (safely) wipe my settings and do the intro-wizard ::fingerscrossed::
I modified the HKEYLM\..ProgramGuide zip but the guide didn't refresh
I tried to delete the whole key, but that wouldn't work because the services were running. I thought I shut them all down but couldn't rename the ehome folder either so probably missed something! I did runAS administrator.
I'm hoping that wiping _most_ of the registry key will be enough...
YAY! That got me the wizard, think I'm cookin!
Now whats that "MCFix.exe" do?

Media Center Studio Fix.exe ensures that changes you make to your start menu via Media Center Studio persist instead of dissapear the next time you start your PC. I'll host a copy of it here within a day or so for you to have. My question is what exactly are you under the impression it does, and are you sure that it will solve your problems.
Another tip is if you are using the built in guide then you should take a look at epg123 because it is a drastic improvement
