Hey gang-- need some help if any of you remember this one...
Approximately every 24 hours, "something" appears to happen to RDP and my extenders no-longer connect; nor can I RDP manually to my mediacenter PC (it's headless with 4 extenders). When I go to the pc/console I can login and everything works. I don't see any errors in Apps/Security/System event logs. I simply can't RDP or connect my extenders. A reboot of the PC mysteriously fixes it for about a day and then I'm back to square one.
Windows 8.1 Pro MediaCenter
Firewall Disabled
No "remote control" / mirror driver software (LogMeIn/TeamViewer/etc...) is installed
Don't use the RDP Hack for multiple concurrent RDP sessions (that aren't extenders)
Any thoughts/help here?
Thanks!

I think I vaguely remember a gpedit setting that was posted around the same time as the TVPack release in 2008?
It could have been on the old .com site though.
Or I could be 100% wrong.
Do you have any 3rd party virus stuff installed?

Check the date/time on the system. Check the Windows Event Viewer (App and System log).

Sorry for the delayed response-- week of vacation does that to a guy.
...seems to have been my AV software (F-Secure) kept resetting my firewall to block RDP. After re-installing my AV software, the problem went away. Strange but it's held for nearly a week now so I'll take it.

Dumb question (and months later at that), but from some searching around it looked like the Windows firewall must be enabled in order to connect an Extender, though they mention that you can turn it off after the fact. Did you have any success with it disabled during the initial connection?
