It seems like they did settle instead of go to trial (which would have started on 9/6). From one of the original articles: "The maker of Les Paul guitars claims it has paid Ceton more than $950,000 since June to develop the technology. "

http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/bl ... -than.html

So it looks like they're just recouping the actual money paid and the rest of the $12 mil figure was meant to be "...compensatory damages -- including more than $2.5 million in estimated costs to complete the project with a third party, and more than $10 million in lost profits "because of Ceton's delay and failure to perform.""

Money which Ceton probably doesn't have, if they have the $950k at all :?

I'm willing to bet that this has more to do with the continued android development on the echo coming to a screeching halt than any other thing. It seems that development ceased and our good friends working with Ceton were off to other ventures right about the time this law suit became know IIR.

So they're divesting of the entire division that sued Ceton it would seem..

How's your Loki working out? Mine has issues staying connected to the app and I end up having to use my trusty quick probe thermometer I keep in my BBQ Apron pocket. I sorta gave up on the Loki but still use the Echos but probably not for too much longer as I'm going to ditch the WMC infrastructure in favor of Emby DVR as I ditch CableTV and go OTA with YoutubeTV and either Hulu or Philo (still on the fence on those two). OTA gets all those other locals not on YTTV BTW.
