I have been running WMC 8.8.5 on Windows 10 flawlessly for 6 months now -- you need to install W10 1511 and FREEZE Updates - follow this post (many thanks to patrick0525, garyan2 and cwinfield for getting this going - it's been a game changer for me since I can buy a modern machine running W10.......

The thing is, most of the workarounds (even the ones in V13) aren't needed on 1511 because they are there to solve problems introduced in later versions of Windows 10.

If you are intent on installing 8.8.5, all I can suggest is that you contact the guy who made the modifications in 8.8.5 and ask...

I wouldn't do that, recording directly to the NAS. Record locally and move the files there once a day. I sugest you to create a batch job like:

I expect it will try and install it again.

WMC sees the native tuners, but WMC can only search for channels on the DVB-T part of this hybrid tuner.

Try going into the Task Scheduler and create a new task. For the trigger, select on system restart from the list. Make sure you deselect stop the program if it runs longer than xx days .

My PC has always woken up at 5 minutes + padding before starting a recording. For a 9am start it wakes up at 8:53am. AFAIK it has always done this for recordings.

There's some small issues: WMC must be manually reinstalled after each upgrade; also the BackupRestore function doesn't work, after installation I must detect TV tuners and search channels. But after doing this WMC...
