Yep, I had it.... WindowsXP Media Center edition, you could only get with a OEM PC.... So no 3rd parties could it get it but, it was available on eBay so I had to have it...

I remember there being a registry key that specifies where the thumbnail cache is located. You could try checking that key to make sure it matches the actual cache location. Ceton's MMC, and YAMMM I think both move this.

I ended up figuring it out kind of. It's actually an issue with Hyper-V. I'm using Hyper-V for the Guest system and the network performance is so bad, it's causing my network based tuner to not be able to perform well. Re-installed Vista on VMWare and issue is fixed!

WOW - you actually had XP Media Center data? Most everyone gave up when we couldn't get data after the ROVI switchover last year. I'm betting you are not in the states. I doubt data will come back since support for XP is over. I'd suggest you upgrade to Windows 7.

pure vista used to recognise all my tuners but only allow me to configure 2 ( 1 dual tuner ) - vista tv pack knows that there are 2cards but will only allow me to work with first one it 'sees'...

If you want to use a Media Center remote with your Media Center PC without disabling Media Center, then you should've installed TV Pack 2008. The VISTA WMC Stuck on Zap2it thread is nearby.

But in this case they could not implement it, as the WTV (or DVR-MS) stream is encrypted, and they did not succeed in restoring the original teletext stream into the resulting stream.

Apparently, as I had bought it second hand and the previous user had restored the computer to it's factory settings, the TV Pack was not installed. Followed the instructions and it all worked!

I found the tv pack. Sleep issues not a problem as its only for PC in kitchen/dining room for when anyone is in that room, PC is pretty much on all the time anyway. I just got to get a cable fed into the room.
