I hadn't noticed that. Channel up/down seems to only work in a couple of places in the information detail. I guess I haven't tried to use it enough in there to notice it not working throughout the detail. It does come in handy though most places where you want to move quickly up or down a list.

I don't do the DVD thing, but I think you'll find there is plenty of add-on software to take up the slack where 7MC leaves off in that regard.

As for simply being accessed via extender, it works fine. I do have a handful of DVDs ripped and sitting on disc where 7MC can see them, and they show up...

If you are regularly recording BBC Radio then rather than use Media Centre I stongly suggest you use Radio Downloader. I've been using it for a couple of years and it's been excellent.

Interesting, I've just started looking at the Core i3-2100T.

With 35W TDP looks like a good HTPC choice with an eye to a slow fan speed and quiet system.

On the odd occasion media player plays up with this problem I tend to remove the relevant folder from the music library then add it again. That normally solves it for me.

So the moral of this story is if you are going to embed covers in to your MP3 files, perhaps because you also want to point iTunes to your music shared folder, then make damm sure you have a backup of your Hi-Res Folder.jpg files called front.jpg in each albums folder or you will lose them!

You just plug in the extender, set things up, and it works. Turn it on and it looks like you're sitting in front of the HTPC. Resume works great.

I have a similar issue. All of my recorded TV files are moved from the hardrive onto another on the server, but with some files, when I select to delete them, I get an error saying that file can not be deleted because it was moved.

I have to manually delete it in Windows Explorer from the folder.

In certain situations, where Media Center thinks the tuner itself is not working, it will simply stop using that tuner (until ehrecvr is restarted or the PC is rebooted) - perhaps that is what happened to all your tuners here?

Yes, you can edit the channel to put it as 41.0 and 41 will go to it on the remote. When you edit it in WMC that is always changing the logical channel number. It won't let you change the physical channel, only remove it or add a new one.

I believe I have now fixed this. In WMC settings go to Settings-General-TV-Audio and turn of the auto volume mode. Also do the same in Settings-General-DVD-Audio

That shouldn't be a problem (WMC wakes up something like 10 minutes early), so if you run into issues with that, you may want to contact Ceton.

+1 that is the likely fix, however, also check your system time. The PC clock tends to drift and cause shows to start late or finish early. If it is not accurate check the post that describes how to adjust the auto sync for windows system time...

Looks like option 3. At least according to a thread over on tgb.com which is reporting MCE has been removed from the latest Win8 build. I don't see how XBOX 360 could be considered appropriate for the living room. Not unless you're used to the sound of a leaf blower in the house.

with regard to to the 258.96 driver not installing:

Just an update. The stop button worked wonderfully but while trying to fix another problem, I realized that the resolution was set to 1920x1080. I reduced the resolution to 1024x720 and it solved that problem.
1080 for on-board video, apparently bad. 720, good.

I am not positive but I believe MCE buddy uses comskip to detect and remove the commercials. If it is comskip you can set the comskip.ini file to delete the commercials and the beginning and the end of a show.

in the comskip.ini file forces comskip...

The reason Netflix pricing has changed is no suprise if you have been paying attention to the state of things. Netflixs contracts with the studios will expire soon and their overhead will be going through the roof.

yup followed that tutorial in order to play flac. I double checked and support is enabled. Maybe the 4k flac files just dont have metadata.

You can also see the InfiniTV channel map at , which includes the frequency for each channel in the map.

There's another hidden thing you can do - Auto Select. It automatically unchecks all the sources that down have a signal, and = I beleive = selects the ones that have a strong enough signal.

Tasks > Settings > TV > Guide > Edit Channels > Auto Select.

Takes a LONG while to run so don't be alarmed...
